- One of the showers didn't have great water pressure. - The beds weren't super comfortable, but good enough for a couple of nights.

Great place - my partner and I spent 4 nights at Costa Norte. You can easily drive anywhere from Ribeira Grande, parking across the street is free, you can get the best ice cream on the island in town (from a small shop on the square). Ricardo who checked us in was very friendly and knowledgable. The housekeepers are nice and everything is cleaned every morning. The owner came by once and was very kind as well. We ended up in the one room without neighbors / not next to a common room (after requesting a quiet room), and were very happy with that! It meant we did have to go downstairs to the shared bathroom, but that was totally okay. While we were there, only two other rooms were booked (one of which had its own bathroom), which meant it was calm and peaceful. We loved it that way! During summer, it's probably busy in the hotel and I think I would have preferred to book a room with my own bathroom then.

Very good location. From Ribeira Grande it is basically close to all the attractions on the island. The city itself is interesting and worth visiting. It is also a great place for fans of surfing. The nearby beach has excellent conditions .. Our room was very large and comfortable for 2 people. Everything clean Kitchen and bathroom shared with other residents but never a problem to use them. Cleaned daily. We had a large common dining room and terrace at our disposal. Unfortunately, the weather was not conducive to using the terrace because it was very windy especially in the evenings and still too cold in the morning. And most importantly, the hostel has great hosts who take care of all the details of your stay and try to help in every situation

The toilet from our separatle private bathroom was not working well (issue when flushing, not very convenient to waste 15min before toilet flushes correctly).

- the shared living room where you can chill - the furnished kicthen with a big fridge and free coffess - the terasse where you can dry your clothes (very nice on this humid Island) - the host replies fast via messages - we received some nice tips on how to visit the Island - easy to park the car as it is not the busiest village, peacefull village :) - in les than 2 hours you can reach every place of the Island, very convenient We booked the double room with twin beds and private separate. The room was spacious and beds were confortable.

There wasn't much not to like. The only thing for me was that the bed was a bit hard, but it depends on what you're used to.

The hostel owner was very hospitable and nice, she really left an impression. We arrived later than were supposed to because of lost luggage and late flights and she was very understanding even after waiting for hours. The hostel was very cosy with a nice common area. The room was also quite spacious.

Wonderful, welcoming place in Ribeira Grande. The host is so friendly and helpful. I had a very delayed flight and she was so kind and even gave me a bottle of wine to help me recover when I finally arrived. The location is perfect for exploring the north side of Sao Miguel. The rooms are clean and the beds are VERY comfortable. I think it is a very fantastic option considering the very reasonable prices. Breakfast is not included, but there is a kitchen and free coffee and I enjoyed having coffee on the lovely upstairs terrace. There are also many good restaurants and groceries nearby. The little church square is next door and has beautiful sunset views. When I come back to the Azores I will definitely stay at Costa Norte!

A lot of ants in the kitchen and cuttlery. The doors could be more robust in terms of safety.

Overall the place is fantastic, only a few minor points of improvements. There were a lot of ants in the kitchen, though they were easily washed off. The coffee is provided but after it was finished it took some time to replace. Other than that, the place is pretty great.

Great location, more central than Ponta Delgada. The hostess, Sandra, is very nice and quick to answer to messages, questions etc. There is a shared kitchen with everything you could need (oven, stove, pans, fridge, freezer, coffee, ...), a nice living/dining room with plenty of space to sit and eat, a roof terrace and shared bathroom facilities that are well maintained and clean.

I've had many Booking.com stays before, but this one is certainly my favourite so far. We stayed here for 2 weeks and I felt like I could've stayed for way longer. The guesthouse is unpretentious and well-equipped with everything you might need, the rooms are spacious and clean and the whole building has good vibes. The owners are extremely helpful when it comes to recommendations and tips of what to do around the island-and Fred came up with tailor-made plans for us, based on what we wanted to do and see. During our time on the Island, we visited a few towns and time and again, we were glad that we based ourselves at this guesthouse in beautiful and relaxing Ribeira Grande. There is something magical about this place and the friendly people in town.
