How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Could have done with more comfy seating in the sitting room rather than just the sofa and two bean bags for 6 adults. Also a couple of sun loungers for the terrace would have been great. The main entrance door lock to the building was tricky to use and took several attempts to unlock to get in.
Great size rooms, good space, very clean, lovely size terrace.

Lighting could have been a bit better and it was a bit difficult to unlock entrance door.
The apartment was super well located but at the same time on a quiet street so no noise at night. Plus, there was a little shop right next door which was very convenient for getting groceries. Prices were very good in the shop. The apartment was very charming and had a nice little terrace. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. Overall, best stay in the Algarve for us.

There is very little not to like. Maybe the fact one lock on the bathroom door was not working? But that’s not even a complaint. Just trying to find something to write here !
Very spacious, very comfortable and I am normally quite picky with bed etc. This flat was so good. We had a rainy day and very lucky to have many many English channels with movies and tv shows!

This clean apartment with beautiful terrace is situated in the centre of Faro We spent a lot of time for breakfast on this terrace It has all that you need for comfortable staying Faro-it is place for chill!

A little worn, but three bed roms for the price.
Spacious appartment with big, lovely terrace. Good situation near the old city. When there was a lack of communication from booking.com regarding the bed situation the straff were very helpful to solve the problem.

No air conditioning, but each bedroom had a ceiling fan which helped.
Located a short walk from the main town centre. Terrace area to the rear and small balcony to the front. Spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen.

Air conditioning would have been nice given the heat.
The apartment was huge. The bedrooms were big and comfortable. There was a big living room and kitchen and a large outdoor patio area. It was super hot the day/night we were there but the fans worked well and it was very comfortable. It was also close to town and the host was very helpful.

any Toilet doors don’t have locks. Door handles aren’t secured on properly. Some of the lights weren’t working.

The soap dispenser in the bathroom was broken but did not cause much trouble as we had the convenience of a mini market right downstairs!
The area was great and the centre was right at your doorstep. Vasco took very good care of us and helped assisted when necessary.

The bedrooms would benefit from wall mirrors and small bins. The details said 2 bathrooms, but only one shower room and a WC with wash basin, but we managed ok. Lack of coat hangers and storage in some bedrooms. Although the sewing machine is lovely, a cupboard or drawer unit would be more useful! Please accept this as constructive criticism only - we had a great time!
Spacious, clean, good location. Plentiful towels, good linens. Some really great restaurants in easy walking distance.

The bathrooms are hard to get out of due to the door knobs. Beds are pretty firm, so if you’re someone who likes a soft bed…it’s not for you.
Lots of space. We enjoyed the apartment and location! Free parking a short walk from the room, lovely location close to a lot of cool shops and things to do. Excellent pillows!
