How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The outside bar area could do with a revamp as it’s looking a bit tired now with the old tables and chairs. The paved area to its front needs updating and new tiles laying. It’s the first thing seen when entering the complex.
The apartments are clean and modern and air conditioning worked very well and cooled the air. All in all great value for money. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Some of the facilities that are stated on the list are no longer available and therefore need updating.
For the price we paid, the hotel/apartment was ideal, especially given how last minute we booked it. The walk to the marina is along a really nice path that has gym equipment alongside it so there’s always people using it. There is also a shuttle a few times a day from the hotel if you want to use that instead. We added breakfast and dinner on when we booked the hotel and it was quite nice; there is a set menu which changes each night and you get a choice of three starters and three mains and the dessert of the day. The food was better than expected and is great if you don’t want to head down to the marina all the time. We stayed in one of the apartments which had twin beds, a big balcony and cooking facilities if you wish to use them. Staff are really friendly too!

for the money it would be unreasonable to grumble too much but Wi-Fi was a bit of a pain

Liked everything but could do with a little updating
Third time here and will come again, good location just a 20 minute stroll from the Marina with an abundance of bars and restaurants.

Was accommodation only. Was fine as we weren't there most other day. Flat was fine and modernised with a couple of minor maintenance issues. The facilities of the block were dated.

Pool could've be cleaner, lots of dead flies, but i know it can't be helped sometimes. Didn't stop is having a quick dip to cool down.
Staff really friendly and accommodating. Upgraded our studio to a one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool, free of charge, as it was my husbands birthday during our stay.

The apartment was very basic. Although it had been recently refurbished it lacked in bedside tables,dressing table. The price was great. Not ideal if you plan to spend time in the apartment.

You could hear pretty much every step that your neighbour from the above apartment made but it was bearable.
We had a half board during our stay and I can say that the food was really great. The apartment was spacious and clean.

It was through covid, I have been to this hotel before and loved it, but this time no entertainment, we had to do our own cleaning, changing beds etc, and only clean towels every 3days

No wifi at Largo. Could do with a mirror in the bedroom. No bottle opener .Got one from reception.
Upgraded to a refurbished room at Pe do Largo. Bottle of wine was a nice touch.

No courtesy bus to beach and no sun loungers around the pool due to COVID., yet the public transport buses are still running and the hotel next door had sun loungers out!.
Given a Penthouse style apartment on the tip floor. Plenty of space with view of the pool.
