How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Unfortunately there was no bar or restaurant but it was available at another nearby Pestana hotel. It was a little bit further out from the town than I would have liked but that was just my preference.
Excellent staff. Spotlessly clean. A room was provided for me on my day of departure to relax and shower as I wasn't being collected for the airport until 7pm. 24 hr reception which was very good

The pool areas were completly lacking any charme or atmosphere.
1 minute to the Beach. Friendly staff. Even garden view is very senic, at least from the 9th floor :) Spacious room and balcony. Despite of the unappealing outside look of the building quite nice inside. Kitchenette equiped sufficiently for simple meals and well equipped for breakfast. Filter coffee machine, toaster, 2 stove tops, fridge. Nice extra: Sauna and steam bath in the ground floor(not exactly a spa,fitting only 2-3 people each, but enough to nicely heat up). Pool towel service. Salt water outdoor and also an indoor pool - nothing too fancy, but nicevto have. Easy Parking, 3 minute drive to harbour/city center. Or a bit longer walk along the promenade.

This hotel would be better if at least it had a small cafeteria for breakfast and maybe a snack bar as you have to go all the way to the next hotel for breakfast etc And the bathrooms are a bit outdated and baths are quite old and a bit yucky.
Stayed few times and it never disappoints, always very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful

24 hrs reception, a pool if we wanted to use it. Close to beach , town and restaurants/bars. Great value for money.

Great location. Very friendly staff. Spacious corner room with balcony. Lots of hot water and big bath sheets. Plenty of storage space Well equipped kitchen. Complimentary pool towels. Pool and steam room. Within walking distance of Alvor centre.

Rooms were a little dated.
Very helpful and personable receptionist. We had a sea view apartment, but came well equipped kitchenette. It is a 20 minute walk to Alvor Village and a short walk to the beach. The hotel also has an indoor/outdoor pool, sauna and gym with plenty of parking and a convenient store nearby

TV & kitchen area could do with updating.
Good size room and storage, bathroom was good size and shower was very good. Room cleaned and fresh towels every day.

There is no bar or restaurant but some not too far a walk away.
Proximity to the beach is fantastic. The pool is lovely and we were happy to have an indoor pool on a rare rainy day. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.

Apartment well equipped with daily housekeeping. Very close to the beach with plenty of parking within the property. Large pool nearby and indoor pool and sauna with hotel towels provided if needed. Very quiet and relaxing - ideal for couples and families with young children.

A few things went wrong relative to the facilities e.g. the power supply failing, water being cut off and the TV not working but the staff were helpful in having these things resolved.
The breakfast was very good with an extensive range of options. The location was excellent being close to the beaches but also not far from the town centre.

Our room was a bit small but was OK for a two night stay.

Bed and pillows were uncomfortable which was a pity because apartment was convenient and suited us.

Studio small. Would be a squeeze with a child. Pillows lumpy.
Loved the balcony in our Studio overlooking the beach. Had sun on it til 4pm. 10- 15min walk to Alvor. Shop on location if necessities needed. Appartment clean. Mattresses firm. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tv had english movies but advertised in spanish

Nothing that would stop me staying again but there were a few general maintenance issues that would be easy fixes. (TV wall bracket loose, towel rail was off the wall & Blind on one of the windows was not workable)
Location was perfect for us. The apartment was nice and spacious, very clean, comfortable bed, good shower and had everything you needed. Nice big balcony with nice views and shade during the hotter parts of the day
