How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only complaint is the noise you can hear. A few nights I was woken a few times early hours of the morning by loud noises in the street, whether it was cars, people or music, and that was midweek! So, if you're a light sleeper, perhaps take some ear buds. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper myself, but struggled to get back to sleep when woken around 4am a couple of times.
Amazing location and an amazing apartment. I don't think the pictures do it justice, there are 2 large bedrooms, a large bathroom and a very decent sized living area, kitchen and utility space. Honestly fantastic value for money. It's a short walk in different directions to key places to visit and more importantly is about a 10 minute walk to Trindade metro station.

Superficial cleaning. The apartment is looking tired and abused. Shower head held together with tape. Shower with mouldy patches. Soap and shampoo dispenser broken. Toilet buttons falling off the wall. Electric outlet wobbly. Chairs in the balcony barely held together. Bed is a small double. Bedside shelf hanging, could not even rest my phone as it was sliding down. Could do with a thorough update but all in all for a few days ...liveable.
Great central location but pretty basic apartment. Busy, noisy area but the black out blinds were fantastic. Anything you might expect from a holiday home was there.

I did not like the ff: 1. Very late check in. 2. Separate check in to actual property. 3. A blower on bathrooms would have been better. 4. It should be properly indicated that there are two bathrooms on its description, since it only indicated there was 1.
It was very clean.

We had terrible trouble trying to use the key of front door. We let ourselves in w a neighbour opening it. 2nd day had to walk to find reception to check in, pay tax, streets away, waste of time and uphill. Apartment was fine but very noisy traffic, sirens etc.
We were comfortable and several restaurants opposite and close by. An exceptional vegan one close.

The curtain is old , tatty and transparent. You can see everything inside the room once the light is on. Also the WiFi connection was intermittent.

very strong smell of cigarettes when we went into the apartment which was very unpleasant, we had to open all the windows which made the apartment very cold.

Some issues with cleanliness: I reached for a plate in a cupboard and my hand touched something greasy… I looked and I put my hand in a dirty plate full of food, that someone put it the cupboard. It was so disgusting I couldn’t eat anything from the plates in this apartment anymore. I was in a group of 4 people and we could never all shower in warm water, it was warm only for 2 people and then it started being cold, even though we were always using as little as possible.
The location was good, beds comfortable and they have luggage storage. We received a wine, which was a nice gift, unfortunately there was no corkscrew to open it :(

The mattress wasn’t too comfy. No coffee capsules or sugar provided despite the Nespresso machine in the flat.
Location was great. The place was spacious. good value for money. Complimentary bottle of wine.
