Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

MexicoMy only complaint is that apparently they were doing some remodeling work in the next room and they started making noise very early.
The attention and service were excellent, I went on my honeymoon and for two days they left us some notes and gifts in our room to celebrate us. It was a great detail that made us feel special.

AustraliaWe extended a tour-based stay at the Tivoli by two nights in the same deluxe room at a cost of approx €500 per night. This seemed to us somewhat steep, even for a 5-star. A number of fellow tour participants opted to extend their Lisbon stays in other hotels nearby for half the room-rate and same satisfaction.
The Tivoli Avenide meets all expectations. Staff are super friendly, professional and ready to assist with anything including holding a parcel for DHL pick-up. Our room offered lovely view of the Avenue. Every restaurant experience was superb. Very central to all attractions.

United KingdomOur check in was messed up and there was a distinct feeling that they were trying to give us a substandard room. We lost 2 hours of our precious 4 day holiday. That said, they did sort it and we ended up with the room we had chosen. There was a small compensatory payment, which as a goodwill gesture made on the last day left us feeling that they were trying.
It was everything I expected. The check in was a mess but they sorted it on the day we were leaving. It’s a typical American hotel. Good focus on service. Great breakfasts and a good bar. The sky bar is exceptional.

BrazilRooms weren’t ready at 3pm, delayed for at least an hour. Some of our Rooms facing inner side were very small. The corridor for the rooms had an unpleasant smell for the whole stay.
Amazing location, lobby bar with piano performance. Great breakfast. Very well equipped gym.
