We had to book a taxi at the reception to bring us to the airport the following morning, but the only language spoken was French. The receptionist was helpful and with efforts from both sides we were able to understand each other. Eventually, everything went well, but it´s important to mention there´s room for improvement there as not all guests speak French.

We had a connection flight in Reunión and needed a place to stay for 1 night. It was cheaper than the other options. Possibility to do a late check in (we arrived at 1:00am). The room was little but it was clean and served it´s purpose.

Paper-thin walls are a problem especially when customers are noisy!

The bathroom should be cleaner ... used soaps and tissue should not be left on the window silt despite it is a shared room .

I was not told on arrival that I should have ordered for breakfast. Wifi was not working for some 30 mins. in the morning. The aircon was noisy. Around 7 am 1 staff was smoking in the yard some 4 m from my open window; when I told him so, he seemed surprised and took a moment to understand and move further away. When I booked 1 day before travelling, the webpage said there was only one or 2 rooms left; upon arrival I was told that remote controls for TV & aircon, though free, were given against a valuable which was kept as a deposit; however I noticed there were many remote controls which were in the 'pigeon holes'. Could it be that only a few guests took opportunity of TV & aircon, or were there not that many guests?

The hotel's proximity with shops and a pharmacy. The bathroom was integrated in the room, hot water was available.

The site is not so safe at night with some youngster guy on the street. And what I really dont appreciate is that the reception staff in the morning refused to help me to carry my bag to the taxi pretending the bag was too heavy for him to carry. No assistance from this staff and I should deal with it with the taxi driver.

The hotel reception staff well received me and we had a chat together. He also help me to carry my 2 heavy bags from the main road to the hotel as my taxi driver leave me at the entrance, which is on the main road.

The hotel management can’t be hold accountable but the neighborhood has changed quite a bit over the course of twenty years, not for the best that is and the area - not that « central » by the way - turned into a slum with its usual fixtures, immigrants legal or not, winoes and hookers… I don’t mind but there are precautions to take obviously in such surroundings…

The staff was nice. They upgraded my room without being asked to and whoever was at the reception desk turned out to be as nice.

Dodgy location felt worried at night. At 10:30pm, the hallway light went on and it was obvious someone was trying to force open doors, mine included. I reported this to reception 8am in morning but guy took little interest even though they have CCTV showing people entering and leaving. He showed much more interest in when I was going to leave that day! What a surprise! No questions about how I felt or calling police. The only thing he raised his voice about was the 11am check out deadline!

Value for money in St Denis with vacancies when there are no other rooms available in the City :-)

1) Booking states every room has a balcony which is not true. 2) Booking states it’s 10mins away from the beach, when there is no beach nearby. However, a 10 mins walk takes you to the coastline with lots of pebbles, cobbles and rocks. No sand. 3) It’s not sound proof, which meant I had to hear a couple making out for 3 days in a row and they were loud. Nothing was done to ask the couple to keep quiet. I was not happy as I couldn’t sleep due to the noises they made every couple of hours. 4) The shared toilet was tiny, and there was a strong smell of sewage which sometime could be smelt in the bedroom.
