Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenI thought the room would be a bit bigger then again, it wasn't necessary since I stayed alone. There was only 1 toilet and 2 showers. Good thing no accidents had happened and it was usable all throughout my stay.
I liked how accessible it is to everything. I appreciate the staff for being very knowledgeable of the schedules of trains and buses. I very much appreciated the staff for telling me about Stor Nabben. Having no windows was a perk since the sun was up all the time.

FinlandNarrow corridors and heavy doors.
Nice one-night-stop in a good location on the way to Lofoten. There would have been a lot to see for nature lovers in Abisko too. The hostel was not luxury but offered simple rooms and good kitchen facilities. There were hiking trails beginning in 2-3 kilometers.

United KingdomThey were keen to sell me activities before my stay, but perhaps it was off-season when I arrived, as there was nothing at all taking place. I didn't see any members of staff or other guests, at check-in or throughout my 1 day stay (although it was a Sunday)
Beautiful location close to stunning National Park. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

ItalyThe only negative side is the size of the room, that is really little. we were informed that it was small and without window, but we didn’t thought that it was so small.
The services are really good, the kitchen is really big and modern and provided with lots of equipments. Staff was really nice and available.

New ZealandA bit costly, but then it's also a hot tourist spot so that's to be expected. There is no "lights off" time, so you can hear people through the walls at most hours.
It's hard to give this a review beyond what others have said. I was crook, in a room with no windows and off season for any of the activities. The views are stunning though, I couldn't stop smiling whenever I was outside. It's also close to the supermarket which is nice.

PolandVery good location. Abisko is super small yet so beautiful. You can walk 5 minutes from hostel to the lake and admire Northern Lights. Very close to hiking spots as well. Very nice personel. You can rent overalls for free although we didn't do it. But that's a great option for people who might need it. Our room was very basic. Super small and without window but for 1 night it did well.

Czech RepublicAll over the room there were warning signs threatening with fees if not observed. It was not possible to open any window in the room. The staff was not present on site, but could be contacted by phone. They were not very pleasant. Make sure to check what activities are available at the time of your stay. All winter activities cease at the end of March in Abisko, although in Kiruna it is still possible to book tours.
The location was great, close to the Tornetrask lake where we went in the night to see the Aurora. Very close to the train station too. The room was very basic but enough for a one night stay. Easy self checkin process.

United KingdomThe smell in the place is no good, I understand the room was no windows but you should invest in airwick plugin or something. It was unbelievable, I know this is not the fault of the property.

AustraliaWe had originally booked the ice fishing but had to change as the hotel advised they couldn’t run it for only 2 people, which was a shame because it was booked and confirmed in advance, and so we ended up paying extra to do the ice hotel, however it ended up being a good day out.
Great place, lovely staff, good activity facilitation and the room and shared spaces were great. We booked a Sami BBQ which was good. The lake is a 5/10 min walk and so we walked down each night and we’re lucky enough to see the Aurora really well. We also did the ice hotel trip which was awesome. There is a shop right next door you can get all your food from. There is also a huge room with all the winter clothing you need to go out in the cold weather which was great.

GermanyFor what we paid the accomodation was totally fine. There are lot of things in the kitchen to use, the "common room" has a nice view :) Still, I wish there would have been a tiny more comfort in the rooms. Since the room has no daylight, it would be nice if the room otherwise offered a small feel-good factor. For example, a small bedside table would suffice. Otherwise, everything was good and as we expected.
The accomodation has a good location, you can easily go for a morning walk down to the water which is really nice.

GermanyNoisy. Not because of the guests/personel but because the doors in the guestrooms don't close properly. Light and noise comes through and even someone walking by is quite loud.

ItalyMinor comment: we found that the place had a bit too many lights outside at night. They made it a bit more elegant, but meant that, if you travel to see the aurora borealis, you have to walk a bit in order to check the sky properly.
Overall, the place was nice and comfortable

United KingdomNo problems. The shared bathroom has both toilet and shower - I always prefer them separate to avoid loo-queue but not always easy to arrange. Room was fine for 1 person and had a great view to the North but would be a bit cramped for 2 or 3.
Short walk from the train station, also close to the grocery store (or rather, the sweet shop with a grocery store attached - visit and you will understand that comment!). 10-15mins walk up to the open hillsfor walking or cross country skiing. Good to have a shared kitchen and dining lounge to prepare and eat own food as there are not many options for eating out in tne area. Also a good way to meet other travellers. Preferred staying here to the turiststation, not surrounded by so many people... Good to be able to store luggage before check in and after check out. I didnt do any tours but feedback from others was good. In short, would stay again.

United StatesThere was nothing about the Guesthouse itself that I didn't like. The town (and so the guesthouse) is further away from the park and hiking trails than I anticipated. Not really that far though.
The hosts were very helpful in helping me find activities. They provide reasonable quality gear for the extreme cold.

Francethe rooms didn’t have windows and felt very claustrophobic, how does the air circulate? the cleaning staff wasn’t nice at all, more like volunteers that looked very annoyed whenever you would cross their path.
the location, super easy to get to from the station station, and close to nature spots so you can explore. the front office staff, the activities, the fact that they had a hypoallergenic room, there were lots of bathrooms and showers, also the kitchen was very well equipped and there was a nice common area to chill at. also, they give to hotel guests free overalls, boots and other cold-fighting equipment, and let you chill in the common area after check-out until you have to leave. I also loved that they rent snow equipment (snowshoes, sleds & XC skis) and have a souvenir shop!

The location is great. The staff is very kind. There are many activities that they offer, I did the snowmobile tour and it was very nice. The structure is simple and beautiful with a common are with big windows on the lake. Amazing view. Another great aspect is that they provide you all you have to wear to not freeze in the winter.
