There was only one thing I can complain about. But I have to point I'm a bit more sensitive than other people: the building (or maybe it was only my room) is badly soundproofed. I heard a lot of annoying noises from the room upstairs (jumping kids etc.). So if you're sensitive like me, please don't forget to take your ear-plugs.

- beautiful and calm area in the forest, no street noises, only wonderful nature - absolutely cute typical Swedish house - everything you need in the room: a comfortable bed, a table, chairs, even a mirror - clean big shower-room, clean toilets - big fully equipped kitchen with two big fridges - no reception, no waiting, no stress - you get a message with the code to the main door and the number of your room, the room-key is in your door - noone comes at the check-out time to remind you that you should already leave I don't expect so much comfort for this price! Absolutely recommended.

You are expected to use mobile phone to arrange check in / check out. Calling around to find out when and where to pay can mean extra costs for foreign travellers.

Tranås Vandrarhem provided everything I needed for a short stay. The surrounding Ekbergspark was wonderful.

sadly can‘t rent bikes anymore, was a bit loud when people upstairs were walking/running around but not too bad

Pillows were a little lumpy and the bedding was clean but a little bit tired and ready for replacement.

Location, super peaceful, great kitchen and lounge. Bed was very comfy and room was spacious Nice area to sit out front in the evening sunshine . Coffee and filters for the machine, teabags and some cooking oil were appreciated. Whole place was charming and great value for money.

There was no reception- we were given the code to the door and instructions for our arrival but never met anyone. I read on Booking there was laundry and emailed to ask because I couldn’t find it but never got a response. It also said there were bikes to borrow but a friend asked and they didn’t have any. One night we came back and the key pad to the door wasn’t working so we tried calling the phone numbers listed but got no answer. On the day before we checked out I asked how to pay and they didn’t respond until the next day at 10 when we could have already left. They asked us to go to another building but when we got there there was no one home and we had to wait outside in the rain while we called them. For most of Europe I would expect something more for this price but I think in Sweden the quality-price is fairly typical. I would have liked a bit more contact from the owners/staff though.

Clean, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable common room. Rooms were fine as were bathrooms. They were comfortable, warm enough and with enough space to unpack a bit. The hostel was cleaned every day and the man who cleaned was very nice. Quiet and in nature, beautiful surroundings, nice trails. Walkable to súper markets and train. 15-20 minute walk to the center of the town.

It appears when booking that a free bike rental is an option, but the property said they didn't have any available. Town is so close that this wasn't an issue, but would recommend they change that option if it no longer exists.

Hard to explain the uniquenes of this place. In a historic group of buildings located on a nature preserve, with trails right out the front door, 5 minute walk to grocery, and from there, you're on the main street of a great little town. Quiet at night, but with a group this place could also be a lot of fun. Full kitchen I didn't take advantage of but great for any on a budget.

I spent two nights there in total and was very satisfied. The location in the middle of the forest, however, is only a few minutes from the city infrastructure. The authenticity and comfort of this place is amazing! + excellent cleanliness

This hostel is an historic building at the edge of a nature reservation. There is also a homestead farm in the same area, which has a café, where you even can have a meal.
