The were bugs, shower could be better, some furniture fall apart and kitchen was not fully equipped.

As a solo traveller, the room had 4 beds which was excessive. Good if you're with friends.

The most unique hotel I've ever stayed in, with an antique and aristocratic feel. Close proximity to restaurants and you stay within the castle walls of Visby.

One of us found the ventilation noisy, the other one of us liked hearing the hum.

The location was central yet very quiet. The rooms were decorated with great care and authenticity. We liked the carefully chosen books in the room and common areas, the very good reading lamps, the comfortable and sturdy beds. There was good variety at breakfast. Tea and coffee and tasty biscuits were always available. Thank you to the lovely staff.

The foot of the bed went off during the first night and the janitor should have taken care of it the next day but he didn't. Then we had to sleep in another room for a night and move back the next day. The room cleaning never came for three days until we specifically asked for it on the 4th day. They didn't give us the right amount of towels after cleaning and there was not enough toilet paper to hold until the end of the stay. The beds are not kept together upstairs and it makes it hard to reach your partner for a hug without falling between beds.

Great location in the centre of the old town. The employees were nice. The breakfast was fine but not changing regularly enough or not large enough for 6 mornings. Croissants were good. Several problems happened in our room but we got compensated for the trouble upon request at the end of the stay.

Cleanliness was lacking. There was mold in the bathroom, a heavy layer of dust, cobwebs hanging in our room and in the breakfast room, and we had to search through the stack of coffee cups to find clean ones. The room was advertised as two bedrooms but was actually just a single room with an open loft, so there was no privacy. The wifi was too weak to work in our room. We only had access to wifi in the breakfast room.

The hotel is located within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, the Gotland Museum, two beautiful parks, the local tourist information center, and the waterfront with breathtaking sunsets. It is an old building with quirky decor and a lovely front patio with seating. The breakfast buffet included a variety of items including fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, herring, meats, and cheeses. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Beds are old and make sound when you move ;) There is no restaurant at the hotel, only breskfast is served. Well, there are plenty of restaurants outside. No micro included, only oven

Non-functioning lamps, no timely cleaning although warned the day before as staff wanted, no air conditioning. The hotel is way too close to bars that go crazy in the evening until early morning hours. If you are with your family and need some quite, this place is not for you. Bathroom and shower are very primitive and smells bad. There is no working air let in it so it feels like you can't breathe in there when someone takes a shower...

Size of the room and being with in the old city walls. Although I never got the fascination over royals, but if you are into that kind of thing, the theme of the room will appeal to you...
