Breakfast was perfect and very well organized. The hotel is located within a 5 minute walk of towncentre. It is a nice small hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. We liked the well kept garden with comfy seats and the kind of livingroom, free to use by the guests. Wifi worked perfectly.

The individual bed was very narrow.

It's modest but very cozy. I had a nice stay and would repeat it. Lived the free coffee/tea/ and fruit and chocolates anytime in the lobby and the outside terrace. Excellent location.

Bedroom is too small to have that size of bed. Only one person can get out of the bed while the other has to climb down to the bottom. Two singles would be better. Get rid of chair in the bedroom as it has stains on it & just takes up room.

Our room had not been cleaned when we arrived and there were no towels. We had booked the room for an extended stay and were disappointed. The receptionist on duty when we arrived was Sandra and she took it upon herself to clean our room and made sure we could comfortably move in that afternoon. Sandra was terrific! Our room, the superior room, faced the street and there were a lot of traffic noise. The designated smoking area was right under our window by the front entrance so every morning we woke up to cigarette smoke.

The breakfast provided a nice variety and there was plenty of seating.

Parking is limited: 4 cars in private lot, another 4 cars in that little street. Parking at the larger street at the front is restricted during daytime, no problem in the evening and at night. Ground floor rooms near the reception need to draw the curtains when inside as people who sit outside on the terrace can look inside. There is no solid locking mechanism if you want to open the window a little bit at night - not the safest option on a ground floor.

Do not turn away when seeing the exterior of the hotel, its interior is completely different. The rooms are nicely decorated, breakfast offers many options. A coffee machine with excellent quality is accessible at all times. The hotel is located in a quiet quarter with 10-15 minutes walking distance to the town centre.

Nice hotel, thumbs up for decoration! Parking facilities were poor. Good breakfast. One cheerful staff member, the other one was grumpy. Cleaning was ok, not great. Our flip flops got stuck in the restaurant

On the website it said that breakfast was a buffet. When we arrived we were told that the hotel wasent fully booked, and therefore the buffet was closed. Instead we got some bread, and some cold eggs in the fridge, and had no table to eat on. The kids (and we) were dissapointed with that.

We ordered a family room (2 adults + 2 children) but when we arrived (late) it was clear that the room had capacity to host only two, i.e., housekeeping had not reconfigured it for a 2+2 stay. Instead, two large foldable beds had been dumped just inside the entrance, and the amount of furniture already present in the room made it virtually impossible to unfold even one of them. Front desk left already at 9 pm (when we arrived) so changing rooms was clearly no longer a possibility. When I raised this issue the following morning, front desk thanked me for the feedback, which felt like a not-so-subtle attempt at brushing off a valid complaint. I felt this was a real pity since we were all in general very satisfied with both the hard and soft product, but this clear service failure and the subsequent customer relations screw-up left a lingering bad taste, and I will advise others to think twice about staying at the Wictoria.

It has the atmosphere of a cozy little boutique hotel, with friendly staff and a quiet but still central location. Easy 24x7 self-service access to decent coffee and a tray of biscuits ;-) Decent breakfast (albeit with a slight lack of replenishment when running out)

On arrival there was nobody at reception, this seemed to be normal over few days. Rubbish on floor in corridor when we got there and general untidiness outside front door didn't give a good first impression - not great to see a pile of cigarette butts :-( Seemed to improve over the few days we were there.

Close to town in a quiet neighbourhood. Room was comfortable. Good breakfast selection.

- Upon checking in, we were assigned a different room than the one we booked. We had booked the Suite and were placed in the Superior room, which was somehow thought of as an upgrade. However, the room was neither prepared nor clean in advance. Towels and sheets were missing and the room (particularly the shower) was generally dirty and adorned with spiderwebs. On top of that, the room has very thin walls/windows and was next to the street so that morning traffic woke us up quite early. Next morning we complained about the change and were relocated by a lovely reception lady who was justly mortified we had been changed to a non-prepared room. While we had breakfast, she arranged so we could move to the Suite we had booked, which was a more pleasant room in general.

Location is quite nice to drive in and out of Mariestad. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good.
