Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

QatarThe room looked fairly nee, the beds were comfortable and the view of our room was awesome. I loved the fact that they tried to be more sustainable. The bathroom had a bidet/shattafah next to the toilet and a full size hairdryer.

United StatesEven though my room was “upgraded” to a higher floor in the Peninsula tower, the room was very dated. Carpet was old, no extra power outlets nor USB ports for charging devices ( not acceptable nowadays).
I like the swimming pool and fitness center. The location is excellent. Public transportation, food, shopping and banking services are nearby. Did not try the breakfast.

IrelandNowhere to place soap/shampoo in shower but on the floor. Elevators could be slow. One was off over two days during our stay. Outside of hotel needs a coat of paint and windows need cleaning.
Great location, handy for rail and food destination next door. Hotels own bar at street level was not over expensive. Nice relaxing pool area but only five recliners.

Not amazing but a “fine” property. Initially they gave me a wrong room. When I asked that I’m supposed to get a room as shown on my booking confirmation, Nick from the reception changed my room quickly to an amazing room from the garbage I was put into The new room had an amazing marina bay view.

New ZealandThere is a short pathway to a parking lot next to the hotel. People were always there smoking cigarettes until late. Probably there are night clubs around, and I could hear karaoke voices until late too. If your room is on that side, you might find it noisy.
The location is super convenient. And, I like firm beds, and their beds were pretty firm. I liked them very much.

JapanSeveral aspects need improvement: - The room was not properly cleaned. - The bathroom was very small, and when taking a shower, water leaked all over the floor. There were also issues with hot water. - The top floors were undergoing renovation, resulting in constant noise from morning until 6 PM. - The buffet breakfast was average and not worth it. Pastries seemed a few days old, and while there were a few decent choices in Asian cuisine, overall it was lacking.
Very good and convenient location. The room was spacious and comfy. Nice pool and very helpful staff.

AustraliaIt is a $300 security deposit (which i did miss when originally booking)when you check in and takes over a week to go back into the account after you check out, so you do need to make sure you budget to lose that money for duration in your trip and after.
Across from city hall bus stop and MRT which was so easy to catch public transport and the 'big bus' tours.
