No cooking hob in the apartment. The terrace was not intimate. no soap or shampoo il the bathroom

The room was nice and clean. The pool and the jacuzzi also. The apartment is located in the main shopping areas. Many things ate close by walk. The is security and cctv on the premises. Breakfast was well furnished. You can akso ask gor eggs. Staff was very friendly.

Water of the pool gets very warm.

Joah Inn is a great place to start exploring Paramaribo and Suriname in general. The hotel is in very central location, from where it's very easy to get around. The rooms and apartments are spacious and have everything you need. In my opinion, the maisonettes are the least impressive rooms. The pool in the main court-yard is great, however the water gets a bit warm in the afternoon. Service is good and breakfast is great. We really enjoyed our stay!

I don't recommend ordering a taxi from them. The service they use is unreliable. I was supposed to get picked up at the airport but no one came. Had to find another one which was easy enough, just cost me $50 USD instead of $40. Then I had them schedule one for me when I was leaving for 6am. At 6:20 I had the guard there call me a taxi. I had already paid the hotel but since this was a different taxi company I had to pay again. When I messaged the property about a refund I never heard back.

The food at the restaurant onsite was quite good. The steaks actually had really good flavor. And the internet was fast enough to get some work done.

The person in the reception the weekend I arrived had a terrible attitude. I asked for a taxi to have dinner at a secluded Indian restaurant, she called, waited for less than 20 seconds, hanged up and told me there were no taxis because it was a Sunday, and asked me to try my luck hailing a taxi on the street. It was already dark, the streets were empty, and I wasn't going to do that. She was really rude. So I ended up having fast food from a restaurant one block away from the hotel. It wasn't necessarily bad, but not comparable to the top Indian food I was wanting to get. I had to settle for that. Apart from this regrettable experience, the same woman told me I had only been charged 50 euros in my credit card as deposit, and that I needed to pay the remaining balance for the full stay (it was almost 400 euros). I gave her my card, and she told me I had to pay cash. So I told her I needed to go to an ATM, and that would have to be the following day. I was coming from a long Caribbean trip in several countries/islands, some hotels charged me in fact some advance payment, others charged me in full, but I arranged everything several months beforehand and I didn't remember what was the case in the Paramaribo hotel. I checked my credit card statement online, and the hotel had charged the full amount, quite some time ago. I talked to another (very kind) woman on the reception the following day, she told me I was all set, that my stay was fully paid. So, I hope it was a honest mistake from her colleague, but that was awkward, at any rate. It didn't affect my pocket, but it might have had. One more tiny thing, a bottle of water at the hotel room when you arrive would be greatly appreciated. My room was not an apartment, it was a regular hotel room with a microwave over a mini fridge (that never worked), so shampoo and a bottle of water are the minimum amenities you expect at a hotel room.

Most staff were really kind and helpful, especially cleaners, bar, security and kitchen staff. I arrived on a weekend, and the woman at the reception was a bit rude, but the other days the other staff at reception were friendly, and always willing to help. Breakfast is good, with an assortment of Dutch staples: pindakaas, Dutch butter, milk, excellent Lavazza coffee machine (some of the best coffee around), Dutch multi-fruit juice, rozijnenbollen, just like the ones you get in Dutch bakeries, super good, Goudsekaas, plus some Surinamese food (like dried fish and pickled vegetables). They make nice piñas coladas, and other cocktails in the bar, the swimming pool is great, as well as the jacuzzi. Guests are respectful, their kids go quiet after 22h, it is a family hotel, most families are Dutch or Dutch-Surinamese. I luckily speak Dutch fluently, so that helps a lot in the hotel and in the country. The infrastructure is simple, but it is super safe and clean. The hotel is in central Paramaribo, but you feel like being in a small vacation town somewhere else.

the property has a lot of amenities like bar, pool, restaurant, breakfast, AC, TV and comfortable rooms! the breakfast was simple but good! I do have to say that they were very accommodating and flexible. for me, a gesture that showed how well they treat their guests is that they let me in at 4am because my flight was very early in the morning! the location of the place is very good too near some good roti places and walking distance to the historic neighborhood!
