Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing except I only stayed 2 nights - wish it had been longer!!!
Everyone and everything! Was a beautifully well maintained property! Ying and Pete are amazing hosts and I felt so taken care of from the moment I arrived! Ying and her beautiful niece 🥰 were such lovely people who I enjoyed talking with so much! Nothing was a problem. Ying is an amazing cook! I recommend eating at her restaurant. I just pre ordered my meal and time and then came down to eat at the lovely on-site restaurant! I had a wonderful day having a nice long walk around the village and then a few hours by the pool! The pool was so cool and was very well maintained ( like the whole property) and I just relaxed the afternoon away by the pool looking at the rice fields. It was truly magical! My accommodation was extremely clean and the bed was so comfortable. I just snuggled down at night into my cozy room! I really really did not want to leave! Thank you so much to Ying and her lovely niece. You are just the most beautiful warm kind and friendly people and thank you so so much for making me feel so special! I look forward to coming back next time I am in Chiang Mai! They also arranged my taxi back into town and my driver was Ying’s nephew - he was such a lovely and polite young man!! If you are looking to relax in a 5 star setting and also be really well looked after I have no hesitation in highly recommending Country Retreat! Everything was FABULOUS!

NetherlandsWe went here for my boyfriends birthday and it was the best place to celebrate it! We felt instantly zen when we entered especially after being in the city. You can see that everything is taken care of with a lot of love, including the garden, food and rooms. Also availability to rent a scooter and bikes to see the surroundings (I recommend to do that). The swimming pool and bar are very cozy to relax after a busy and warm day.

Ask for this form to avoid bitter surprise So take pictures as you do with company cars before rental. And make sure you show them deposit is full with the key in . Without key display show less than real . They tried to charge us too. /

NetherlandsAfter 7 years we decided to stay here again for 3 nights. It still is a lovely place, really quiet. The area is beautiful to explore by car or scooter. Ying is a great cook. Try the bananaflower salad and the pizza. If you have the change to book the superior bungalow, you should. It is slightly more expensive, but the views from the balcony are amazing. Room is clean, with everything you need.

We found this lovely place to escape the busy city and only booked for 2 nights but should have booked for more because it didn’t disappoint and when we wanted to stay longer they were sold out Peter and Ying have created a lovely place to rest and eat (her food is amazing!). They hire out scooters and bikes and give a concise list of places to visit. Highly recommended

I originally booked for one night but ended up staying 5 more, that says it all really - it was too lovely to leave! Pete and Ying are the nicest people you could meet, they run their place meticulously but are always available for a chat and to make you feel welcome. The setting is idyllic, the bungalows are spotless, super comfortable, well designed and furnished and there’s a lovely pool area. Ying’s cooking is fantastic. Hands down one of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed and I’ve stayed at a lot.

ThailandWe stayed at the time of maximum air pollution in the Chiang Mai area, in fact it was noted as having the most polluted air of any city in the world at that time. Obviously completely out of the resort's control but worth noting and avoiding if you have any breathing difficulties whatsoever. Any other time of year we would have struggled to make any negative comments.
Location of the resort is out in the countryside away from the city. It seems to be in a dormitory area for the city, so in the early mornings and early evenings there is a lot of traffic on the main roads to and from the city. Probably better to stay in the city if that is the prime purpose of your visit, however if you want peace and quiet and to enjoy the countryside it is ideal. There are bikes and scooters available for local journeys. The breakfasts are all freshly made and delicious. More coffee would be nice. We also ate in some evenings and that food was also excellent. Pete and Ying are good hosts, but be aware bar and restaurant opening and closing times are generally strictly adhered to. When the village public address speakers played some music one morning the resort's two dogs sat together at the end of the drive singing along - a site I have never seen before, and most amusing.

United KingdomDue to there only being one chef/cook, service at meal times is slow.
This truly is a quiet, tranquil away from it all small resort. The grounds are lovely. There is a small pool, a covered terrace on which massages are available to be booked and a bar in the evening. There are hammocks dotted around the resort as well as loungers at the pool. There is a small restaurant on site offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. The location is good for visiting many attractions in the area if you arrive by car, if not bike hire is available.

This place is truly amazing! Ying and Pete made us feel so welcome, very warm and generous people. Ying is a great chef, she cooked the best meals of our entire trip in Thailand. It was cozy to have a beer and a chat with the other guests at Pete’s bar in the afternoon. The bungalows are very well equipped, and neat and tidy. Everything just works perfectly. There is such an amazing view over the rice fields with village and mountains behind. The pool was very nice too, it was clean and fresh and had some very nice shade areas around. We loved everything about this place, and would really recommend it to others looking for a nice place to relax with great hosts. We stayed with a 7 month old baby and had a really good experience with our stay at Pete and Ying fantastic place. We hope to return some day!

ThailandFrom our perspective, there was nothing that could be improved upon. The grounds are beautifully kept and the surroundings were spacious. Our bungalow was welcoming and private. Our bed was super comfortable. The large bathroom had a great shower and everything we needed.
Ying was an extraordinary cook. The breakfast and dinner meals were absolutely wonderful. She cares so much for every guest's experience and moves well beyond expectation. Thank you Ying and Pete!
