Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustriaThe place is dated, too dirty, bath stinked and walls had soap rest since forever. Wi-Fi connection was unstable and internet was slow. Aircon was too loud and would refresh only half the room. Bed was big but too tough. The elevator would go only until the floor below. Laundry service rather expensive (40 baht per piece). TV had some kind of cable but all channels were in Thai, so no use. Staff (maybe owner) let their dog defecate on the lobby when I arrived.
They provided two bottles (600 ml each) of water every day

Hong KongThe shower water strength was weak. I complained on day 2. No fix. Day 3, no fix. Day 4, no fix. I gave up. Also, the kettle was rusty. I asked for another one. They said they would give me one 7am. Nobody talked to me in the morning. When I asked for the kettle in the evening, the lady there was rude. When I've checked out and asked for a favor. The lady said cannot. I can understand that, but she was, again, rude.
Very big room for the price I paid.

ThailandWe arrived and were greeted by a very rude woman at the reception. She never looked at us, never smiled, and made it very clear that she felt it a great inconvenience that she had to check us in. When she eventually gave us the absolute minimum attention she had to check us in, she informed us that we had to accept a twin bedroom even though we had booked a double bed. After we had objected, she eventually found a room with a double bed and proceeded to insult us in Thai (not knowing I understood Thai and my wife was also Thai). We got to the room with no assistance and discovered it was extremely dirty, filthy, uncleaned bathroom and had a very rotten odour to it. The fridge did not work, and there were stains on the sheets. We then had no choice but to check out immediately as no human being should be subject to such an environment. As we checked out, we were offered more insults from the same woman with no possibility of a refund as it was booked on booking.com with payment up front (still worth not staying there). I can not understand how this hotel can be 3 stars. I hope that people who read this will be able to avoid the experience we had to go through as there are much better hotels in the area.
Nothing as we could not stay there due to below. However, the location was convenient for our businees.

ThailandThe water heater in the shower wasn't working. The old AC was either working strongly or not working (not sure the dust filters were clean but they were not staying in place for sure). I could feel almost every bed springs. Most furnitures in the bathroom were broken or badly renovated.

RussiaThe only thing that we noticed is there's no kettle in the room. If you like hot drinks such as coffee or tea, no kettle would be a no for you while choosing the hotel. The bed was quite wide, 140-160 cm, but the width of the comforter is not enough for two adults.
Our room had a good bedroom and a nice bathroom with shower and a bathtub. All great!
