Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA unique guest house that’s wonderful in every way. Patrick is a genial, supremely helpful host — he even managed to get my iPad back to me when I left it behind. And within 24 hours — when I was a hundred miles away! His wife Sabrine is a Michelin star-level chef, and the dinner she prepares is something you won’t soon forget. A memorable experience.

NetherlandsThis is by far one of the most special places we’ve been to. I read a review where one said it was worth the 500 km detour from Tunis, I’ll give you a better one: it’s worth a 4000 km detour from Amsterdam! The setting, the views, the amazing rooms, the village itself, the location, the hospitality and company and above all, the delicious dinner and breakfast. It was perfect from start to finish. Sabrina and Patrick, you have created something unique down there. Thx for everything. À la prochaine, insAllah.

United StatesOur only compliant was the very bark-y dogs! but thankfully they were quiet during the night.
The food, the hospitality, the tranquility… we had an amazing stay here. Patrick and Sabrine offer something really special. Worth the trip and the stay for the dinner (and breakfast!) alone. A bit pricey for the region, but price includes half board (dinner and brekkie) and it’s definitely the most upscale place to stay in the area! Also they have a nice Tunisian wine selection 👌🏽

BrazilThe house is beautiful and the experience was great. A highlight in our stay in Tunisia. Food was delicious. Both dinner and breakfast. Sabrina cooks very well and prepared us mouthwatering dishes for our two nights. Patrick prepared us delicious breakfasts. Together they form a great team! Patrick was so nice and lovely. Always making us feel comfortable and sharing tips on what to do on the surround area. We loved his sense of humor and already miss him. We stayed at the cave room. The room was even better than photos when we got there. 10/10 I would stay there again and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Tamazret/Matmata area.

United StatesOne minor thing that could annoy some people bud didn't bother me is that they have several dogs that like to bark throughout the day but they were quiet at night. Also, you should know that there are some accessibility limitations if want to stay in the room I stayed in - stairs to enter and inside leading down to bathroom and you have to stoop over to enter but to me that was part of the charm.
What a wonderful and unique experience! I would love to return to visit Sabrine and Patrick again. The room exceeded my expectations in every category - comfort (oh that bed was comfy!), view, aesthetics, privacy, modern bathroom (sink, shower, etc.), quality towels and linens, very tastefully appointed- and like nowhere else I've stayed before. The food that Sabrine prepared was delicious. Pat speaks perfect English, French, German (and probably a few other languages) and likes to chat with his guests. I mentioned that I was interested in WWII history and he let me a very informative book about the many battles that occurred throughout the region.

NetherlandsThe welcoming can be improved: we arrived 15hr (1 hour early as the rooms are available as of 16hr) and we were asked to wander around in the village till 16hr. The walk was nice, but they could have been more welcoming by offering us to use the generic part of the facility while the room was being prepared.
Perfect location, great rooms, excellent diner and breakfast, great stories from owner Patrick

We enjoyed the picturesque location, fine dining, and genuine hospitality of the husband and wife team behind this incredible restoration. They were very responsive to questions, offered suggestions for local businesses to support, and the accomodations were wonderful. A great deal of care and thought goes into this curated experience. Can't recommend it enough!

United Statesi can’t think of a thing.
it is a very small, intimate inn located on the hill in Tamezret among ancient dwellings and near the mosque. the views are gorgeous over the landscape toward the desert. the proprietors are genuine “hosts” who arrange everything and answer all questions - I have learned a lot from just chatting with the gentleman here. the rooms are fabulous and unique - as is the intimate dining room. unmissable, particularly the elegant dinner.

FranceThe food was not good, even the second night I was sick by the food. For me there's something wrong with the food conditioning.
The couple was nice and friendly, unfortunately this is not enough (see what I didnt like)The room was clean , but the bathroom was not well designed. The museum in the corner is exceptional.
