Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilNot a thing that I did'nt like, but something that can be difficult for some people, is the fact that the employee during the day speaks only french and arabic. But nothing that Google translater can't solve.

Canada😃 Nothing, it was the nicest place we stayed in while in Tunisia!
Dar Lola was charming, homey, and spotlessly clean. We were treated very well, with a lovely breakfast and a to go sack on the day of a tour. We really enjoyed the terraces on the rooftop to just relax, and of course, the two delightful and adorable cats were an added bonus for me! Dar Lola staff make sure you're comfortable and provided us with dining suggestions and helped to organize our tour.

SwedenThe wifi did not work inside the rooms. Might be difficult to communicate with staff if you only speak English.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious, clean and cute (we were tempted to buy a lot of the decorations) and the property overall was lovely! Even though it was located in the middle of the old town, noise wasn't a problem, the little sound there was from the stalls added to the atmosphere. And as a bonus, the breakfast was above our expectations.

AustriaEverything was perfect. The only difficulty I encountered concerned some problem with the internet connection in the structure. This might have been episodic, though. I trust that internet is normally perfectly accessible and functioning.
Breakfast and location where truly amazing! The personnel was extremely welcoming and ready to support me with everything. The spaces were extremely clean and beautifully furnished.

NetherlandsNot much to complain about. If nitpicking I would say that the bathroom was a little small, the shower faces the toilet so you're guaranteed to get your feet wet if someone used the shower. The lamps on the bedside table were metal and they get a bit hot.
Great little hotel in Houmt Souk. The rooms are all colour themed (down to matching shampoo colors!) and the beds are very comfortable. There is free parking not far away, just outside the city center. There are two friendly and very furry cats that inhabit the hotel and they are always up for some play. The owner is friendly and accomodating, there is always someone around at night as well, there is a great rooftop terrace and the breakfast (that you can also enjoy on the terrace!) is pretty good too! The location is perfect as it's right in the center where all the restaurants are.

Hong KongNothing!
Lovely hotel in the middle of Houmt Souk. We booked the room with balcony, which was lovely. The terrace was a bonus! I have included the photos in this review. Breakfast was good, room was super clean! The lady Shala who works there day shift was super helpful, friendly and welcoming. We parked our car at the Turks mosque (just few mins walk away) no problem at all. Highly recommended this hotel.

United KingdomMy only very minor complaint was that whilst there were many channels in multiple languages available on the TV, I only found one English-speaking channel. I'm not sure that anything could be done about that, though. But at least the WiFi was good, so I could at least watch things on my tablet when I wanted to just relax in my room.
Great location right in the centre of Houmt Souk and close to everything you could need, including some nice restaurants. The room was large, clean, nicely furnished and decorated, and comfortable with plenty of storage space. Great staff, and a couple of friendly cats, too! I struggled a bit to find the place when I first arrived, but once I got my bearings, I had no problems. Breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty with lots of fruit and juices. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay and I felt very much at home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

United KingdomHot water was a problem at the time of our stay - what a pity.
This guest house is well managed by wonderful hosts. They make you feel at home right away, and the rooms are very nice, clean, well equipped, with comfortable beds. The common areas are great for meeting other guests, or the beautiful cats (who seem to be the genuine owners of the place). On top, there is an amazing terrasse with a great view. The location of the hotel is perfect, in the old part of Djerba, far from the resort areas, but with a few amazing restaurants nearby and a nice vibe, mixed of tourists and locals.

United StatesHot water or water at all, can be an issue on Djerba Island. Not the fault of the hotel. Best to keep this in mind for your visit.
A very charming small guest house. Great attention to detail at all levels. Staff took great care of us with a smile! We had dinner at Dar Lola the first night and it was delicious. Another plus is that they have laundry facilities. We had them do our laundry, but they allow you a self serve option as well.

United StatesBe prepared for water issues on Djerba. Not the hotel’s fault, but we were told that pipes the island are old and often break. We were without water (and then without hot water) for part of our stay.
Perfectly situated small hotel in the beautiful market town of Houmt Souk. Wonderful hosts who cooked us a fantastic vegetarian dinner and provided a reasonably priced laundry service.

BulgariaTaxis can't come to the hotel, so be ready to walk a bit with your luggage on the narrow souk streets. Also at the hotel itself there is a very high flight of stairs that you must climb with all your suitcases.
The house is beautiful. The location superb-walking distance from Ghazi Mustapha Fort and St.Joseph Church. Right in the middle of Houmt Souk.
