Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaVery small room. Bed, which appeared to be king size was enclosed on 3 sides by walls. If more than one person in the bed you literally had to climb over the other person to access the other side of the bed. The bathroom, however was a decent size.
Family run, very pleasant and helpful owners, beautiful common areas, authentic Tunisian breakfast.

United Arab EmiratesEverything was great, place, breakfast/dinners, atmosphere, hosts. Thanks to Dar Douads recommendation we used BOLT app to have fast, traceable and cheap taxi rides all over the city. Strongly recommend to use it’s service from airport which will cost around 20 dinars, not more. There is a great shop nearby to buy really nice honey, nuts, olive oil, etc… check the name of the shop with hosts

BelgiumThis place is a piece of heaven in the middle of La Marsa, beautiful, comfortable and tranquil. The patio is an amazing place to spend some time and rest, and the rooms are very nice with private bathrooms. The best part of Dar Souad is the staff, the two sisters in charge of it are very helpful and have good advises to move around the area. The rest of the staff is also fantastic, very good cookers also! I would come back for sure!

United KingdomI think I was woken up by the prayer call very early in the morning, but I guess this is not necessarily avoidable in Tunis.
This was my last stay in Tunisia, and I was glad because it was the best of the 3 places I stayed. I got a discount as well, so it was a good price for what felt like luxury. Breakfast was amazing. The grounds were also very nice. Layout was also very good and comfortable. Wish I could have stayed another night. Tip: I think I got a fairly good discount, but if you are thinking of staying in Sid Bou Said or La Marsa, this place offers much higher quality than some of the other places I looked at in SBS, but for much less--so you could indulge yourself and then just take a bolt to and from Sidi.

United StatesNo complaints. 100% perfect.
Look no further for your hotel in Tunis. Dar Souad is owned and ran by a mother and her two daughters, and they absolutely built the most beautiful boutique hotel we have ever stayed at. The beds were comfy, the bathroom came with a towel heater, and the breakfast each morning was specially crafted. The location is a short walk from La Marsa and short tram from Carthage, and we loved sitting by the pool playing cards. Absolutely 11/10 experience and wouldn’t change a thing

United StatesThere wasn't a single thing I didn't like. Everything was perfect. Location was a bit far from the bustle of Tunis, but that's exactly what I wanted. Staff was incredible. The interior and central garden/seating area were incredible.
Dar Souad is a magical place. Exceeded all expectations. I couldn't wait to wake up every morning and get coffee downstairs in the magical garden. Location was incredible, as was the staff. I can't wait to go back.

Stunning place, both interior and exterior. When you walk through the port you enter a different world. Your eyes, your nose and all your senses will be forever grateful you chose this place. A true oasis. Also make sure to have dinner in one night. It’s a lot but I guarantee you will try to finish everything. The owner and the staff are all super sweet and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I’m so glad I found this gem and I will be back for sure.

SwedenYou can pay with card only for sum over 1000 dinar, otherwise you need to get cash from an ATM, or pay in euros. This is not an issue, just good to know. Really can't complain about anything else.
Inner courtyard was a very oasis, we loved having breakfast there. It is also pretty cool even during the hottest time. The room was nice, with a bid bed and a well-placed aircon. Really beautiful too! We had to ask for a late check in (10 euro fee) since our flight was arriving late. An employee was waiting for us and helped to settle in. The hotel also recommended a taxi driver (airport to hotel was 30 euro), who met us at the airport and helped to get into the hotel -- it would have been a bit difficult to find the entrance in the middle of the night. Overall, we were happy and loved the hotel!
