Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Nice, helpful staff and very friendly. Nice surprise the gifts offered by the Reception staff upon check-out. Location is top top - very few minutes on walking distance to the most important landmarks. Good food with variety; Clean location; Good value for money - since we have been relocated to Maywood Hotel because Sapphire is under renovation (which was not a problem for us because we did know in advance from the comments section given by other turists about this switch policy).

SwitzerlandBreakfast and the quality of drinks would clearly require enhancement. Swimming pool and the fitness room were often closed. Room cards got demagnetized very easily and we had to go to the reception . There were some cleaning utensils left in the corridors during the day, which could have bee placed to some storage. I understand that there were some reparations going on , but piles of stuff stacked in the storage open and visible to the clients do not create good impression .
Since hotel Sapphir was in the middle of reparation we were moved to the sister hotel Maywood, which was also located in Sirkeci next door. So the review relates to Maywood and not Sapphir. We loved the central location, it was a walk distance to Gulhane park, Sultanahmet, most highlights. The people at the reception were very friendly, professional and helpful, the rooms were quite comfortable.

United Arab EmiratesThe hotel does need renovation, and it has started on the upper floor, due to which it is noisy and dirty in the elevator as they carry construction materials. Also, there is some construction happening opposite the hotel and also noisy on the other side. We stayed in a room with hotel signboard right next to our window, and the signboard made terrible noise due to the wind. They offered to move us, but on the other side, the room is even smaller, and constriction opposite the hotel is happening, so we stayed. This hotel does not have a vibe. The lobby area is dull. I hope it will change after the renovation because I did like all the people working there, and I want this property to prosper.
The hotel's location is fantastic, it is only 2-3 mins walk to either Gulhane or Sirkeci tram stations. Staff is super friendly, and nothing is ever much of a trouble for them. They are always ready to answer any question and extend help. You can get a local sim from the reception with plenty of data at a reasonable price. Breakfast was OK, you won't go hungry, and there is some amazing orange jam that you must try. Restaurant staff are superb, very attentive and pleasant. They prepare yummy eggs and omelette. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is perfectly hermetically sealed, not a drop outside shower area. The shower was great too, hot water comes immediately. Amenities are plenty and smell nice.. There are a lot of eateries and small grocery shops nearby the hotel, very convenient. Please note that there is no water provided in the room, but a kettle and cups are available. Rooms are rather small, but it was OK as the majority of the time we were outdoors.

LithuaniaDecent hotel in excellent location - everything is just "a step away" - tram, ferries, buses, main tourists attractions and all kinds of places to grab food - either local supermarket or a fancy restaurant. Though there is so much around - including restaurants working late into the night - it is not a "party" zone; and the tram is on parallel street - so it is not a noisy place for a city center. The hotel itself was decent, the staff was really helpful and nice, breakfast good and plentiful; rooms well sized, decent windows, central conditioning and a bath, not only shower :) They even have a pool in the basement. There is only one "kind of but" - the hotel is past its prime and the good news - renovation is planned and it hopefully will be done for next season (2024 as we heard).

The reception asked to keep the card away from mobile phone and other cards, but that didn't help. If course the reception helped with the card when needed, but it's annoying each time.

CanadaBreakfast buffet not enough hot dishes and omelet service starts at 7.45 while the Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. There's something not aligned here. Food in the vicinity of this hotel is expensive. Just walk a few metres away and you'll gett good affordable food.
