Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

A fabulous breakfast right on the beach. The view couldn't have been any more beautiful. We could hear the waves lapping as we ate the delicious breakfast of omelette and breads as well as a Greek breakfast of cheeses, olives, jam, honey etc..

United KingdomRooms could be better. Mine was small and basic (but immaculately clean to be fair). Decor very dated and didn't reflect the exterior feel in any way. Curtains were were held up on a piece of string which had seen better days. Bathroom was very dated (but workable) with poor quality toiletries. I don't recall seeing any hotel/area information in the room which would be helpful to new guests visiting the area. Balcony was tiny, but as a solo traveller it was fine and served well each day to admire that incredible view. I did ask to view other rooms while I was there which they kindly did - these were bigger but also dated and tired looking. Staff seemed extremely tired and not overly welcoming at times. Possibly refected in the language barrier and nearing the end of season? Perfectly understandable as they work very hard long hours in extensive heat. Most staff however, were very friendly and incredibly polite all the time and as already said, I felt very safe here. I couldn't find the pool area and was shown its location (tucked away across the road otherwise I wouldn't have seen it). I swam in the pool for approx 20 -30 mins and on the same day another guest was told 'pool is closed', without any reasons why. I explored further with reception staff to be told 'problem with pool.' Whilst I accept this may have been the case due to a chemical issue, the situation was poorly managed with no signage to stop guests going in there (including me - concerningly). Beds were notably removed the following day, which in hindsight, was a tad late after being taken to the pool area for my use as a staying guest at the hotel by reception staff. Not great tbh. However the positives outweigh the negatives and so I would definitely stay here again - just chose a different room!
The location sells this hotel with its spectacular views of the bay, private beach area with sunbeds and parasols for guests included. Much thought has been invested into the walk by sea front area with its tasteful furnishings, foliage and background playlist of piano jazz tinkling away. Open breakfast was plentiful ( when available) with daily egg options being offered and cooked to order. I had an omelette most days - made to perfection. The hotel exterior of the hotel exudes 4 star feel and quality which understandably entices passers by to soak up the chilled ambiance and gradure. I enjoyed reading about the family history and how the hotel acquired its name. My bed had a firm mattress which was very comfy (appreciate this is down to personal choice) but suited me. Great hairdryer along with powerful shower and good working air-conditioning. I felt very safe there was a solo traveller.

RomaniaThe hotel is located in the center of Turunc, actually on the beach. Clean and elegant hotel. Very comfortable room with balcony overlooking the sea. The staff is very kind and professional. Elegant restaurant with excellent food and service. An excellent DJ and his guests. The road between Marmaris and Turunc is very spectacular. Very picturesque landscapes.

Ukraine- Would like to have a little information printed out in my room: so I would learn how I can order food strictly to my room from restaurant, how I can get water (we bought it by ourselves), how I can order fried eggs on the breakfast (and that they are included), how much will cost sofas on the beach, or sea board. Do I have a discount if I have lunch in their restaurant..So these details would be useful for me once I come for the 1st time there. - Turunch is a small town, be sure that it would be interesting for you and your child to stay there. If I was alone with no child I would definitely lived more there but I was with my little daughter we lived for a week. But this comment is not for Diplomat.
Turunc is a nice tiny village near Marmaris. The sea is clean and clear, so I decided to have a vacation there with my child. Overall, hotel is one of the best in its area: - pool (my child adores), however on there website it's said that the pool is out of order. - good restaurant on the 0-floor, it's important because the hotel gives only breakfast included. - good breakfasts: greens, eggs, good high quality cheese, fresh bread, watermelon - their own beach with good facilities: parasols, beds, shower. - rooms with kettle (so you can make tea), fridge, AC. Rooms are made in Turkish style, some people ij comments said its old, but on my opinion it's authentic and I have never seen so beautifully painted doors, as I understand there is an artis: many interesting pictures on walls. - staff - this is another treasury of this hotel. As they are all very diplomatic!, polite and tolerant. Some of them are very nervous of bad knowledge of English, but I think they shouldn't be, people will always understand each other - we had a sea side view with a balcony and comfy beds (pillows are soso, we slept w/o them). But I think from any room there will be a nice view, hotel is a large one (comparing to others near), built in a right way. Has its own territory for parking and yard for chilling out.

SpainCleaning the apart rooms every four days is a bit annoying (also, it took some time to get a few more toilet papers and soap). One of the personnel at the beach told us (in the middle of our 6-day stay) that we were not allowed to consume beverages at the beach, and that we have to order from the hotel's restaurant. We stopped consuming our own beverages at the beach, not to disturb ourselves mainly, arguing with the personnel. We saw that some other guests kept drinking what they bring themselves in the meantime. When a guest reserves a room at the hotel, they have access to the beach (sun loungers etc) by definition. What we drink is nobody's business (use of the hotel facilities at the beach is one thing, forbidding people to be at the beach or drink what they want is another --not even legal). After having spent money at the restaurant (which is really nice actually with good food) and being warned, we decided not to spend money at the restaurant any longer. Not that it changed the overall opinion (still enjoyed our stay at the hotel), this was something we wish did not happen.
Location is perfect. Hotel is clean, the restaurant is nice. Sea is beautiful. Samet (at the reception) was friendly and helpful

NetherlandsIn general, I don't leave reviews. In this case I am more than happy to make an exception. Our stay as a family, with two young children, in the Diplomat Hotel (they also have apartments with a swimming pool across the street) was a surprise and a gift at the same time. The interior has a fine mix of bygone times and modern. During the day, morning, afternoon and evening, you can chill on lounge sofas under white shade cloths with super relaxed lounge music. With an enchanting view over a beautiful bay. The feeling of; I never want to leave here. Rooms are simple but uber cute. Not only the rooms but the entire hotel is wonderfully clean and maintained throughout the day. The same also applies to the private beach. Sunbathing on a clean beach The beach staff was super friendly super in the service. There is a restaurant in the hotel called Bade. Our breakfast was included and it was delicious with freshly made bread. We had lunch and dinner a number of times, the mix of traditional with a modern fusion mix twist really made eating at Bade a delight for us! Last but certainly not least. Staff, service with a smile! We enjoyed the service of the young students. Personally, I found it a relief for a change to see that both the Diplomat and the restaurant have students as staff. Almost all of them spoke relatively good English and we could joke back and forth, they quickly picked up on personal wishes that made us feel special. The cleaning crew was also so cheerful and sweet. A special thank you to the manager/owner Mr Aydin. Who acted adequately in resolving a miscommunication with booking.com We would definitely recommend the Diplomat hotel! Both for couples young and old. As well as for families.

United KingdomOne could say the room could have been bigger - but the reality is for the price paid you could not really fault the place.
This is a basic but very clean hotel in a great location right on the best part of the beach in Turunc. The room was small but adequate and had a balcony overlooking the sea. The breakfast was included and was great. The room rate was very reasonable and for the money you cannot fault the place. The staff in the beach bar were brilliant - Dennis on the beach was absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Sayit in the restaurant was a charming young man who also worked hard to look after all the guests. All in all he staff make this hotel very special and I would not hesitate in recommending the Diplomat Hotel.

United KingdomBreakfast was nice with plenty of choices such as bread, cheese, salad, cereal etc but it would have been nice to have meat option. Ham or such. However, the chef cooked fresh eggs for you. Fried, scrambled or cheese omelette..
The location is fantastic. We had a sea view with balcony and the view was amazing. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff very helpful. There is a swimming pool across the road in the Diplomat Annexe. However, with its own private beach you don’t really need it. Would highly recommend.
