Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe wifi signal in our room was weak and It was hard to connect sometimes. The hotel only gives you one key, so if you're with a group, you need to coordinate leaving on your own if you want to do that. The front desk are helpful with opening the front door and your hotel door should you need it.
Its great for groups looking for a central location in Istanbul. The Villa's rooms are clean, quiet, and the staff are there to help with anything you need. The location is excellent.

Czech RepublicWe were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel room, it was neatly organized and everything from sheets to bathroom was very clean. The hotel staff was welcoming and helped us with all our requests. They can help you with local sim cards or even help you arrange a bosphorus cruise. The location is also very close to the Taxim square so there's no need for taxis or metro. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

IndiaThe hotel is nearby to Taksim (a 5 min walk)and at a good location.. There is not much disturbance in night bcz it's at the inside end of lane. So that's a positive in point. The host and other staff were very friendly (also spoke English) and the accomodation was good. For breakfast, we didn't really get any proper vegetarian options without egg. It was just bread, cornflakes and fruit. But they understood our situation and helped us arrange it. Overall good. We booked it twice during our stay. Worth the price

United StatesTaxim, the neighborhood, where the hotel is located, is a very busy place, a lot going on there day and night. But if you HAVE TO stay in Taxim, Villa Pera is probably the best choice, as there is ZERO noise in the rooms, due to the room setup/rooms facing the back part of the buildings (there are two buildings, not just 1, on the same street). And no safety concerns at all - the neighborhood, even if "busy", did not seem unsafe, and the staff is vigilant about who enters the buildings 24/7.
The room turned out to be an apartment, not just 1 room - it had 2 rooms, one of them included a kitchen area with all the necessities for cooking/washing dishes, a fridge. I did not expect it! It was a pleasant surprise! I stayed at Villa Pera twice in August 2023 - a few days apart - and we had the same type of a room/an apartment both times. I loved the shower setup - spacious, water was not flooding the floor/splashing all around, like at some other accommodations during our lengthy trip. Comfortable bed/mattress, no backache in AM, like in some other instances, depending on the mattress quality.

Pakistan- If you are travelling by Hawaist to Taksim Square and you have two suitcases per person, walking to the hotel is not possible to uneven stony streets. The other option is to take a taxi, however, taxi drivers in search for big fish do not give you a heed. In my case one young man was good enough to take me there. - Muslim Shower in my room was not working and it was not repaired in spite of my complain. - Breakfast is basic. - The guy who is possibly a manager is courteous, especially to those who use his services for tours and cruises and airport drop services. - And an additional advice not related to the hotel stay is "BEWARE OF THE ISTANBUL TAXI DRIVERS", DECIDE A FARE WITH THEM BEFORE TRAVELLING. OTHERWISE YOU MAY BE CHARGED UP TO THREE TIMES. The good thing is that police is always available to help you in case of any dispute and they are very kind.
Location is good, The room I stayed in was good, The young boy on the front desk when I arrived at 5.00 pm was very very helpful. Looking at my age, weakness due to a medical condition and luggage, he offered me to stay in the main hotel; my room originally was booked at one of their other buildings about 4 minutes away. He speaks very good English. My room had all the possible facilities one can expect, except the bed size which was on the smaller side.

It's our fourth time at Villa Pera Suite Hotel Whenever in Istanbul, we book the same place because of its cleanliness and location. The Villa Pera is just 7 mns away from Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. Its rooms are big and well maintained. The staff is helpful and extremely professional. Murat is reachable any time of the day to provide help and advice. I will not hesitate to book the same hotel, and I strongly recommend it to Istanbul visitors.
