A mirror was missing in my room..but the owner already bought one and now nothing to claim :)

This hostel was one of the best I stayed in during my three weeks in Tanzania. The hostel owner Datto and the staff like Dayanah are the most welcoming people. I felt like home and we became friends. The hostel is located on the outskirts of the village. Next to Lake Manyara. It's super quiet and you have a relaxing atmosphere there. Monkey all around the house :) The room was big and everything you needed. This hostel is also perfect to visit some tribes or do safari. Just ask Datto and he will organize everything. At the tribes it was only the guide and me that makes it super personal and you get all out from it. It doesn't matter at which time I had to wake up, breakfast was always prepared for me. Even at 5am. Thanks to Dayanah and Datto. You are amazing. I really can recommend staying there.

Shared bathroom is behind the main building outside

Staff was amazing, the two women Diana and her sister were incredible. The homemade food from them was really good. Overall nice little oasis 10 min by foot outside of Mto Wa Mbu. Fireplace outside was cosy.

The host is the most attentive guy. He looks after everything - got up at 5am to get me some breakfast. A great place to stay on the way to Ngorongoro or other National Parks in the area.

The price on booking it's different than the one you will be asked to pay. The sailing would need a change, since it was all broken and leaking.

It's simple but comfortable. The breakfast was nice.

    Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Best place to be in Mto Wa Mbu!!! The garden is beautiful, everything has been created with so much love. I enjoyed lying in the hammock and watching the baboons. The hosts are wonderful people, very welcoming and helpful. The food was so delicious. The host Datto is very knowledgeable about wildlife conservation, history, politics and he will never get tired answering your questions. He can help you to organize activities in the region or advice you on how to plan your stay in Tansania. I highly recommend that place, you won't regret!

No toilet seat, no fan, no mirror above sink to shave. Common area rudimentary.

Where to start... 1. We had seen the fantastic website, the activities they offer... Upon arrival, only two girls present who barely speak English and give us no information at all. Three days there and the owner does not appear. 2. We had the supposed best room (double with private bathroom), and... there is no sink in the bathroom, you can't wash your face of your hands; bed has a very very thin sheet on the rough mattress, and to cover, just a Masai blanket is offered; all really noisy because the place is next to the road. 3. Booked a transfer to Arusha with them. After a misunderstanding setting the destination, owner and driver had a phone conversation, we thought it all was clear when we finally started the journey, driver was all smiling and 'hakuna matata'. Then, entering Arusha, his face changed, stopped in a dodgy street, and said he wouldn't continue. I could point some other ugly details, but I don't want to be too harsh. Just 50 metres townwards a nice place with a great room for a third of the price is a gem compared to this disaster.

Breakfast was very good (all carbs but the eggs, but abundant: pancakes, bananas, bread).

Baboons jumping on the roof very early in the morning, sometimes a bit cold, but they could give an extra blanket, so that's fine!

Nice and cosy place, good breakfast and always willing to help us out
