Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe room was very small, towels were dingey and no face towels are provided. The attendant had a very thick accent so when I asked for the wifi code I couldn't understand him so requested he write it down and when he did, he threw it at me. Oh yeah there was no ice machine, iron or blow dryer. The air conditioner in our room sounded like a diesel truck each time it came on which made it difficult to sleep. Don't take room #104.

United StatesYour site listed this motel under "Airport Shuttle Provided." There was no shuttle. Please correct this. I waited in vain and it was hours before I finally arrived by bus. To add insult to injury, I was told I had to pay a $20 "late check-in fee" when I got there. I explained but still had to pay $10. He said I should have called. I told him I had tried calling to no avail.
They gave me clean towels and changed the bed sheets when I asked.

United StatesA bit run down, husband and wife owner. wife is unfriendly and the motel is bare minimum. Not great for the price. feels incredibly cramped and uncomfortable but i guess it got the job done. Only one maid, and she is burnt out from all the work, sheets on the bed were dirty. I would have complained but I could clearly see no one cares. I am not even sure if the room was clean before I arrived. Water barely hot, roaches, perfect motel if you're a serious low life. No place for a family. Ridiculousness

ChileThey charge 20 dollars extra as a deposit when I got there, but next morning they say it is because they gave me "a bigger room?" And didn't want to give me my money back. I felt assaulted and robbed. The restroom was awful, it didn't even have a steady toilet seat cover. Rusty everywhere and old towels.
