Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe facility was noisy, dirty with garbage cans overflowing and food laying on the ground next to the trash. the room had a drippy faucet, a very loud air conditioner and the refrigerator made a loud buzzing noise that woke me up during the night. I was awakened at 3 am with people running around and shouting on the walkways near my room. There was no mat for the tub/shower and the shower curtain was too long, laying on the bottom of the tub and presenting a tripping/fall hazard.
Staff was friendly and the location was good for my purposes.

United StatesStains on carpets, shower floor was really dirty. 1/4 roll of toilet paper. Toilet roll dispenser had brown and orange stuff all over it.
We were supposed to check in at 3pm. Room was not ready until 4:40. We were just driving around for awhile. Kids wanted to get in the pool ASAP, by the time the room was ready and kids changed into swim wear....the sun was gone and got cloudy and cold.

United StatesWe checked out and refuned our money with 10 minutes of checking in. This place is advertised as 3 stars but its more like "no stars". Although the staff was polite and professional. Unfortunately, this place is extremely dated and could have used renivatons 10yrs ago. It was hard to tell if the room was clean because the carpet was old with numerous stains. Walls appeared dirty with stains also. The bathroom was in disrepair with old and terrible patch work on numerous holes in the walls. It was disgusting.

United StatesNothing about the room or bathroom was nice. It was very outdated, dirty and grungy. There is outdated and dirty a/c units, crappy patch work in the bathroom where it may have leaked, grout was nasty as well as the floor of the shower. At night we had a couple of roaches that tried to hang out with us.
The price and the area. We stayed here before and it wasn't bad, but it had been 5+ years and a different room. I guess alot can happen in that amount of time.

The location was the only reasonable thing. The hotel is falling apart - literally. Breakfast was a joke, an apple, a bear claw and a cereal bar in a paper bag. The only drink available was regular coffee. No decaf, no other drinks whatsoever.

United StatesWe paid extra for a larger room with disability access. Only to be put in a room on the second floor that was no larger than the other rooms. The continental breakfast was not as advertised (waffle maker in pictures, juice, etc.) We were just handed a bag with a prepackaged pastry. Our room was not clean (walls and carpet had obvious dirt). Beds were surprisingly comfortable for the rest of the experience.
