How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

When we booked, it stated there would be breakfast but when we checked in, we were told they only had breakfast on the weekends. The water was tan - completely disgusting.

The rooms had an odor of mildew to them, tub didn’t drain well, toilets didn’t flush fully, floors weren’t cleaned appropriately, beds didn’t have a comforter (only sheets), we were also confronted by another resident who had just gotten out of prison at 4 am by the elevator
They offered shuttle service to the airport

Our observations: most guests are cruise people. Booked through a travel agent, they had much nicer rooms. People like us booking independently through accommodation platforms like booking.com, got ground floor rooms, which were dated, funky beds, did not feel clean and had the odd bug on the ceiling. Not a pleasant experience after a very long flight from the west coast of Canada.
Close between airport and cruise terminal if that is what you need. Bus to the beach outside the Hotel. The Mexican food truck has the best food.

Washroom sink tap did not work properly. Window drapes extremely difficult to open and close. Door could have certainly used a cleaning or painting. Price of shuttle if you used it to go anywhere else other than airport or port. Just be sure to know price before starting out. Breakfast was limited to toast, cereal and small yogurt and juice and coffee, not much else.
Free shuttle from airport. Room was a good size

Room was in terrible shape, dirty and I saw roach! There was a coffee maker but no coffee. Hairdryer did not work.
Nothing much for breakfast. Main thing I liked was the location.

Needs a makeover. Bathrooms very outdated. Front room facing 4 Lane highway. Was very noisy until late at night.
Breakfast. Airport pickup very good. Also shuttle to the port was well organized.

At arrival in room, Toilet seat was very loose. Slide to side by at least 6". Wife tightened the screws. Fixed. Staff should have done during cleaning or maintenance Faucet in bathroom sink was loose and wobbled. This is a maintenance job. This Days Inn by Wyndham needs some love. Shuttle to Cruise Port I understood to be included. $15 per person was charged. Rooms facing the highway were noisy. Loud Hot Rod cars and trucks were the problem. Get room on back side of building.
Pick at Ft. Lauderdale was not at our Airport Terminal. There are 4 terminals at Ft. Lauderdale airport. had to go to terminal 4. Not convient.

There was no TV remote in the room and although I contacted the front desk twice, they never provided one therefore unable to watch TV. There was a strong and very unpleasant odour in the room (smelled like a dirty mop) and it permeated onto some of my clothing. The odour was so strong that it kept waking me up. The breakfast was pretty bad; only one fruit (oranges), only one type of jam (grape jelly) and although there was some oatmeal, there was nothing to put inside (such as brown sugar, raisins, etc). I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself is old and shabby and in need of being upgraded. The shower head needs cleaning or replacing, and the water takes a long time to run hot. There are several electrical outlets which don't work, and the safe didn't work. The elevator was very slow. The pillows were awful.
The location was perfect for our needs. The staff were efficient and friendly.
