How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Due to the third party billing, I was limited to certain rooms and services. I felt like a stepchild in a dysfunctional family.
I love the location and the proximity to restaurants and the beach.

The public areas, specifically handrails and guardrails were sticky, obviously not cleaned regularly. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom.. Some of the bathroom fixtures were not well sealed.

Elevators could be a little more consistent. Had some issues with elevator doors not wanting to close.
Is it the nicest hotel around? No, but it's great for a quick get away. Decent prices for a great location. Restaurant and grocery store right next door is a huge plus. Staff is always super friendly.

Only one thing - I would recommend they put a key card opening to all entrances because there is a large walkway that anyone can walk in to the courtyard and I think some people came in trying to mess with the guests which resulted in some yelling. -- Besides that - the stay was perfect!
Location was amazing! It is located right across from the beach. Staff was very friendly, bed was comfy, pool was great and blocked the wind, breakfast was tasty! The price I paid for my room was spectacular for a hotel of this caliber. I would recommend to anyone staying in Galveston - especially those who want a special experience but on a budget!

I didn't like that the room wasn't very clean...the elevator could use some maintenance as well

We arrived late. The front desk (window) person was pleasant and gave us instructions for the parking lot, etc. however she failed to tell us the elevator near the parking lot was out of order and our room was on the 4th floor...so we walked around trying to find another elevator and had to walk up 2 long flights of steps to the front elevator carrying 2 heavy suitcases...this was awful, we are 70 years old...not cool.

electric went out but it was on soon.I like the motel it was in pretty good condition overall I was there four days so if I need anything I just could call down or go down and get it that was pretty simple
you could have had some croissants or some sweet rolls or some muffins that would have helped I didn't see any milk but I didn't eat cereal so it was all right it it was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little bit more but it was pretty good overall

I could have ice makers on every floor but it wasn't bad I like the elevator where was that pretty good otherwise.
couldn't use the more toast milk and juice and they can put some meat in that gravy but the business and gravy was good but it just needed some meat in it and potatoes and stuff that needed some sweets like some muffins and some cinnamon rolls and just sweets and I don't think that's about it.

Constant dog barking somewhere near us all night long. Electricity went out on Friday during the day. Room smelt old and moldy, although I know this is an older property. Air freshener would’ve helped. Shower was leaky and tub drain was broken.
Love the location of the property. Housekeeping came and cleaned our room during our stay which was nice.
