This complaint is about hotels in general. We’re asked to reuse towels yet there are no towel bars!

Parking is only by valet, and expensive. There is public paid parking across the street. There was a movie night, but you had to pay extra for it. I was surprised that they charged me an additional 35 USD to cover de "free Wi-Fi, pool and other amenities". Would rather have that included in the price of the room. Shower floor could be cleaner.

Fantastic location! Close to most turistic attractions, and a close drive from Universal Studios. Can walk to most places, and very close to a train station. Very nice pool. Cool hollywood vibe with the decoration, feels fun.

The bathroom floor had some strange spots, it wasn't dirty but it seemed old and dated. The water pressure in the shower was very bad, there was barely enough water coming out. The AC was making loud noises. One thing I didn't like, but that is of course not the fault of the hotel, is that Hollywood is rather sketchy after dark (and even doing daylight hours), travellers should be aware of that.

The staff was pleasant and they tried to resolve any problems. Everyone was trying to be helpful.

We loved the place, how retro it feels especially the pool area, the rooms were all renovated and clean. The location isn’t the best compared to West Hollywood/ Santa Monica but it wasn’t bad compared to the rest of the street. We could find couple of parkings around that we could use for cheaper rates. The staff were SUPER nice and helpful, that even compensated me for a power outage that happened during my stay without me asking for it. Over all it was a nice stay!

Banging my knees into the stupid bed frame posts. REPEATEDLY. Horrible design. We had to have the hotel put foam around the posts to prevent further injuries. My knee is covered in bruises. Lamp, table and shower were broken/had issues.

Nice staff, love the classic hotel, but stop messing with it. It’s being ruined.

Our bathroom had a sliding door that was a little difficult to open/ close and we couldn't figure out how to use the lock. It wasn't a big issue for us, just might be notable for people with mobility issues or if you have a problem with leaving the door unlocked.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. They were very helpful with whatever we needed. Location is great!

Our room specifically could use some maintenance, the bathroom fan was quite noisy (room 1215) and the bathroom lights could not be turned on independently (a night light or low ambient light option would be nice!)

The pool side cabanas room was tired. Worn/torn seats. Worn/holey curtains. Floor lampshade in the way to close the blinds/curtains. The room was quite dark in the day and evening. One of the lights switches didn't seem to have a purpose. Not enough space in room to accommodate 2 large 2 small pieces of luggage(Old hotel). Cleanliness of bathroom 7/10, little bits of dirt here and there. Standard of bathroom finish was poor, paint streaks, poor grouting, etc. Lots of things out on display for sale such as playing cards, snacks, drinks, makes room look tacky and makes you feel like the hotel is just trying to make as much money out of you. Sandals in the cupboard were sealed and were also for sale. So no free slippers to walk in and only one robe. Had to ask reception at least three times to bring in a second robe. Reception staff were hit and miss. Some were excellent, some needed asking several times to get an extra key/robe and some had an attitude and didn't deal well with frustrated guests. On our arrival day there was a film showing by the pool side. One of the staff tried to chase me off an area to seal if off for the screen, despite it being 2hrs before. After our conversation, she let everyone sit in that area. They put inflatable screen infront of our patio area which blocked us off from the pool area. I asked about it at reception, they were prepared to move us to another room a couple doors down, I asked why they had put us in that room in the first place, her reply was it was an oversight. Pool opens from 7am to 7pm. Pool music on from 7.30/8am. We were woken up every morning with it being switched on hight to then lowered. Some areas of the hotel are also tired and poorly refurbished. Shirley Brasserie, food excellent but wine list very expensive. Not one Cabernet Sauv under $100. For the cost of the cabanas room, I expect 9/10 for room quality..it's more like 7/10. Valet parking $60 per day.

The history of the hotel, an oasis in the city, the pool vibe and the cabanas room with it 's own patio straight to the pool. The pool staff, bar staff and bellboys were very good. The cocktails by the pool bar were excellent, fresh ingredients as was the food. Location.

Excellent location, and a historic Hollywood site. Many famous stars stayed there over the years. On-site restaurants weren't great, somewhat expensive and limited choice of foods. Room was pretty small, but had character.

Fantastic location, opening out directly onto Hollywood Boulevard and Walk of Fame. Very close to Hollywood sign, and other attractions like Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills etc.

AC seemed to come on and off in the night making the room a bit warm at times to sleep in. Bathroom was a bit small and the floors look like they could probably use a deep clean.

Cool, historic hotel right in the middle of all the Hollywood attractions. Great pool and bar areas. Staff were also very friendly and accommodating.
