Only complaint was with breakfast. Weird how they have it set up in a meeting room with round group tables. No windows. Very close and hushed… 2 people sitting at a 10 top… weird

The bathroom door squeaked very loudly every time we opened or closed it. The same with the bath seat. We weren't able to borrow wine glasses from the bar.

Breakfast was very good. My friend was able to get decaf coffee because the staff made it for her specially. The beds were wonderfully comfortable.

I have never spoken to or been spoken to by a hotel manager as rudely as I was by the manager of this hotel. I tried to amend the reservation but she refused to work with me on that and told me she would just cancel my reservation. I ended up having to keep it and paying for an extra day that I didn't even use due to her unhelpfulness and rudeness. People like this should not be in the hospitality industry and should be able to speak to customers politely and kindly. Will never stay there again on principle. Gave a sour taste to our whole visit.

Indoor pool was advertised but not open. This was a major reason for selecting this hotel. Please update the website to reflect that the pool is closed due to Covid! Also, minor issue, but the shower head was pointed at the back of the tub enclosure and couldn't be adjusted down into the tub.

The breakfast service was so very slow. There was only one server, and she took forever to get to our table; when I asked for coffee she advised it was self serve. She had to come back to get order, and in the meantime we left as the coffee station had no coffee and we were tired of waiting. This hotel needs to hire more servers/cooks if they want to have their guests stay for breakfast.

The location isn't ideal for travelers without a car, and ride shares were hard to come by (April 2021).

The staff was very friendly and helped me check in hours ahead of schedule. My room was very spacious and clean. There's a decent amount of dining and shopping nearby (chains, mostly).

When I arrived to check in, the front desk receptionist was unprofessional. She complained about how she needed to leave for a doctors appointment, and yelled across the lobby for another employee to take over for her while she sped through my check in. She even acknowledged to me that she was being rude, but didn’t apologize, just excused herself because apparently she had a valid reason for being unwelcoming to guests. It was also very hard to fall asleep because all throughout the night, the other guests staying on my floor were slamming doors, and shouting in the hallway. I could even hear the conversations of the guests in the room next door to mine. The walls are paper thin and not sound proof at all. The stay was not at all worth the money I paid.

I liked the location of the hotel. It was central to many stores and restaurants and the university of Virginia.
