Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesONLY small issues: in both rooms we booked, the shower could be cleaned up and fixed. Slow drain and one shower couldn't activate the shower head, only the lower spout.
Love the location, the aesthetics of the lodge, and the setting within the state park. The disk golf course and amenities are enjoyable all year round.

United StatesThe fixtures in our room were dated to the point of crumbling. We couldn’t get into the on-site restaurant for love or money, but the take out pizza from the bar was a decent alternative.
The location was ideal for our last night as a family before Miami University move-in. The property has a unique Native American decor and the lake and trails are gorgeous. My sons played shuffleboard and we all enjoyed the outdoor and indoor pools.

United StatesWe enjoyed the pools but each were in rather poor condition, for different reasons. The outdoor pool deck is in bad shape with cracked concrete and broken patch jobs leaving large pebbles that hurt underfoot. The indoor pool is poorly lit at night which is not good for families with children. You can barely see the deep end of the pool. The rooms were good but the showers/baths were among the worst I’ve seen in any accommodation over $50/night. We had two rooms (214 and 215) and each had ancient valves with loose knobs and shower heads. The caulking around the tub was slathered all over and the grout around the tiles was dirty. But, hey, granite countertops! 214 had a noisy AC that kept cycling and waking us up, so they moved us to a less desirable room across the hall. To make up for it, their excellent maintenance man, Matt, gave us a gift of s’mores at the fire tables. He really went out of his way to help and apologized for the state of the rooms. Hueston Woods needs a whole maintenance staff of people like Matt.
The location is convenient for a couple metropolitan areas; Dayton and Cincinnati. The restaurant served great tasting food, as did the bar. The staff were excellent and helpful and they really did a great job to make sure we were satisfied. We didn’t do much beyond swimming. The property is well kept given its age - and all that dark wood is back in style again!

United StatesMy room was dusty, some cobwebs. I wish the prices of the rooms and cabins were lower. WiFi was slow when I was trying to work.
What I loved about the property is it’s location deep in the woods. Great for privacy and some quiet time. And the best place to see stars. I loved having coffee on the balcony in the mornings!! Book reading there was a delight as well, there were birds playing on the wind right outside my room. I like that there are so many options to try if you’re feeling adventurous. You can rent a kayak or canoe at the marina or look at the rehabilitated animals. On my next visit I want to try shuffleboard in back of the lodge or disc golf (is there a name for it?? Lol) in front of the lodge. Hiking trails and a fishing dock are close by for some time killers too. Me and my grandchildren got to experience the nice outside pool this year along with the inside pool. Plenty of room for us swimmers. If you have sports on your mind there’s also a tennis court and basketball court. We didn’t have time during our stay, maybe next time. The beds are super comfy too. We have stayed at the lodge, in the cabins, and the campground and we always have fun. Definitely our family spot. 🙏🏻🦋

United StatesListing Houston woods is wrong and misleading. They make you think your booking a cabin, but it's for a hotel room at the lodge. For $150 plus a night you do get a nice room, and access to pools, but that is it. Would be nice for 24hr free coffee, and maybe longer hrs on some of the other services.
Good food at restaurant, The bar was awesome. They serve pizza which you can pick up but it closes at 9 at night. The pools where ok we did swim and the lodge itself is beautiful.
