How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of dryers and washers out when we were there.
It was super close to the beach. Also, it is in a good location and close to many things near Waikiki beach. I like how we could take the bus, taxi, or uber when we had to. Also, I like how there was free breakfast. If you need things to do, they offer beach toys and they can give you advice on what to do in the area.

The breakfast was not worth having. The tiny selection of hot food was cool as was the coffee. If you are happy with toast, very limited cereal selection and fruit.... then it would be ok. The dining area by the pool is stark and lifeless... like eating in a carpark.. It could be a whole lot better... The breakfast experience was very disappointing im afraid. Not what I expected of a Hyatt Hotel

Breakfast’s location, not enough space to fit all guests. Balcony in the room was too small and view was disappointing, supposed to be ocean but it was more like roofs and walls of other buildings

The elevators were problematic and the lobby was filled with students at times. Who wouldn't move or shift. That was definitely one of the downsides.
The breakfast and staff are all really nice.

Elevators were ridiculously slow. Hard to believe there are no service elevators as the housekeepers jam up the elevators daily. You can wait over 20 minutes during "peak" times for elevator.
Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good and nice variety.

We experienced electrical problems and plumbing during our stay. The plumbing caused the room to smell like sewage by the last day of our stay. The hotel staff fixed but only thing that was a bit disappointing.
Centrally located. Steps from beach, restaurants, and shopping. The room was spacious.

No hotel parking, and pickup/dropoff parking requires awkward drive around block each time from the nearby garage. Not even enough parking up front to check in.
The price to location on Waikiki was excellent.

The breakfast buffet was convenient and the food was ok, it was very crowded but manageable if you are patient. Watch out for pigeons!
This hotel is in a great, convenient location close to great food and Waikiki beaches. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. It was very convenient to have free beach towels and boogie boards and chairs for (free) rental.

Very cramped valet area, lobby was odd as it was an open area and could be cramped when large parties were there. continental breakfast was lacking variety. Cost was high, but all costs in area are high.
It was a great location in Waikiki with easy access to restaurants and within walking distance to amazing beaches. Rooms had enough places for multiple people. Staff was helpful and friendly

Our view could have been better. I feel that the listing when booking the room should have been more upfront and honest about “ocean view” room. Much of the view was obstructed by several buildings, leaving only one small sliver of the ocean for viewing from the balcony. Also, the hotel could use more than two elevators. We often waited very long for the elevators, seeing as there are 19 floors with many guests to share just two elevators.
The staff at Hyatt Place was beyond helpful and kind, especially Angeline at the front desk. Angeline helped us with everything we needed and she couldn’t be kinder to our family. Thank you for making our stay terrific, Angeline! The Hyatt was also very clean, comfortable and our room was fairly large. We would definitely stay again!
