Room had several issues, bathroom some of the towels were questionable as if really clean or just well worn. Only 2 chairs in the room and no side table to put a drink on. Microwave wasn't cleaned and really didn't rotate the plate kept slipping off the holder. Basics like remote for TV no batteries! Room was above a pub so music was continuous until 1 a.m. on a Friday night

Balcony looked out onto the lake which was about 1 block away without obstruction. Wooten park was within walking distance as were pubs and restaurants. Location was great to a quick trip to Mt. Dora only 8 miles or so. Breakfast was good. Choices were cereal waffles, egg burritos pastries oatmeal everything prepackaged. Room was spacious but could use some update and more furniture .

The only staff I encountered were at the front desk. I was not impressed. They were generally helpful in providing needed information, but were not particularly welcoming. They certainly did not convey an attitude of we are glad you are staying with us. This is probably a hotel's only opportunity for face to face marketing. The Key West failed in that regard. The coffee in our room was horrible. I have often thought that hotels should hit this one out of the park, but they rarely do. One would think that bad coffee costs the hotel pennies per serving and good coffee must cost $10 or more. The bifold closet door had an issue that kept it from fully opening. If the cleaning staff cleaned in the closet, (it was definitely clean,) they knew about the problem. The room had the dings of wear and tear, suggesting it has been a while since it was upgraded. It was, however, roomy, clean, and comfortable. We paid too much for the room, probably because there was a Christmas event in adjacent Mt Dora and lodging choices were very limited.

Rooms were large and very clean. Apparently every room has a lovely lake view. Our balcony overlooking the lake was the perfect place for our morning coffee. The location is very convenient to area fun things to do. We were doing a seaplane ride which basically across the street. Tavares is convenient to Mt. Dora which was also on our agenda. We would definitely stay at the Key West Resort in the future.

We stay in the initial bldg. directly on the lake ( where I have stayed for last 4 years) . The outdoor chairs on the balcony are coming unsewn on the sides and can completely tear with the occupant falling to the ground . Need repair badly. No light bulb on poarch Clock had no plug and wasn't functional. Bathrooms have no place to hang ANY towels or put toiletries.

It was a good little start to the day. For mostly non hot it had a nice selection. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms big.

We would have liked to have a room with a view, and the breakfast was so-so as was the room it was in. For such a nice place, the breakfast came up very short.

Elevator out of order in building #2. 3rd floor laundry (bldg #2) was dirty, washer out of order (was fixed same evening). Need more towel hooks in bathroom. Clean towels had gray stains. Small counter space in bathroom. Telephone out of order (no dial tone) - desk notified.

Large room with comfy bed, good view. Large glass door to balcony. Included refrigerator. Large bathroom. Simple breakfast but good choices.

Both rooms I rented had ants. We woke up to ants in the bed in the suite. The other room had ants in the kitchenette. Continental breakfast at a resort is kinda unheard of. That was disappointing.

The front desk staff was ok, one of them during the stay seemed disinterested and a little put out that we were asking a question about the surrounding area. Who knows maybe she was having a bad day.

There were a lot of spiders on the balcony at night.

Check in was easy and the receptionist was polite. We had an issue with the coffee maker in the room and they immediately replaced it with a new one in the box.

Loved location, parking, service animal friendly, distance from restaurants/bars, attractions, shoreline. Shotgun style room with large bathroom and perfect porch w/ chairs. Restaurant/bar on the ground.
