The built-in aircon was quite old and noisy, but worked well.

Great central location. Nice double room with kitchenette w. fridge and coffee maker. Really clean and inviting. Old-fashioned decor but not old. Staff were friendly and helpful. All round a great stay.

Just one minor thing, the WiFi is pretty hit and miss.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect, metro station just 5 minutes away and a supermarket just before the station. The room was great, with the little separate bit as I wake up really early so could go and sit round the corner without disturbing anyone. The were plenty of sockets in the room as well. We ate in the restaurant on the first night as we arrived late, the food was really nice. Beds really comfy, maid came every day and all staff were really friendly.

The bed was not so comfy as we have expected. Need more lights in the hallway and in the room. It was bit dark.

The staff was the most accommodating and friendly that we have ever encountered. The accommodations were absolutely charming, loved the classic, elegant flair. Didn’t visit the restaurant but the lounge was delightful.

An older, unrenovated hotel reminiscent of the Algonquin and the Iroquois in NYC. That's not really a negative since it is well-priced for DC. The overnight parking at $50 is out of line with the rest of the package. It would be nice to know that it's actually on I Street NW, not Pennsylvania Ave NW. You'll find it since it's right where the two come together but we had to drive around the block since if you approach on Pennsylvania you can't get to the entrance directly.

Excellent location, friendly staff, very decent restaurant with both good breakfast and dinner menus (all a la carte). Excellent pillows which is a top priority in judging room comfort.

Our Room was at the rear of the property backing on to various other properties and delivery/bin areas. From 3AM we were woken time and again by vehicles reversing sirens beeping away or the crashing of bins being loaded. Even though we kept the curtains closed and the window shut the “double glazing” seemed totally incapable of dulling the noise in any way shape or form. Add the constant police sirens throughout the night and I was exhausted each morning due to lack of sleep. The facilities were pretty basic, without any cutlery, not even a spoon to stir your coffee. We had a massive bed which over crowded the room so it felt somewhat claustrophobic.

Location. Comfortable (massive) bed. Lots of character, and very friendly and accommodating door/front of house staff. Never used the restaurant or bar so cannot comment.

the room is somewhat dark and the facilities are a bit old, and the floor with with carpet. the light system is not very smart; curtains are very old.

the location is perfect for walking to all meeting in the city centre, it's perfectly located for business travels
