Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Loved this new boutique hotel in the heart of falls church city! The rooms are beautiful and the location is superb. This was one of the only places available during a very busy week in the city. This place won’t stay a secret long! Also nice bakery, restaurant, and Biergarten patio. Highly recommend!

United StatesThe only complaint we had was that the room didn’t have a fridge/microwave or a safe. We had many leftovers along with food from our road trip that we didn’t get to keep due to no way to store them properly.
Absolutely beautiful hotel! Perfect distance outside of downtown DC and onsite (free) parking was wonderful. The free pastry and coffee in the morning was a great bonus!

United StatesThe wooden floors in the hallway make sounds really loud, like constantly slamming room doors. There was no muffin in the morning as promised, the room service offered was pastries only, there is no coffee maker or fridge in the room, sound from adjoining rooms were loud, there was never anybody at reception after my initial check-in, not even to check out, you just have to leave your key in a box.
They did give a cookie when I checked in, and it was delicious. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice.

United StatesThe problem is that they're not quite a fully functioning hotel! There's no business center (but I found a FedEx two blocks away), there's no coffee maker in the room (a must!!), the lobby isn't really a lobby - it's a small desk in the area adjacent to the elevator, and there's no sign out front with the name of the hotel (two Uber drivers had difficulty finding me). Plus, when I checked out they never ran my credit card or issued me a receipt. They said Booking.com had taken care of it -- which I knew wasn't true and I'm still waiting for it to be sorted out.
This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location and staff who try hard to please. It's very European in design and feel. The rooms are clean, modern and attractive, on the small size but well-equipped - except there's NO coffee machine!! and there's very limited shelf space in the bathrooms.

United StatesBreakfast was supposed to be a muffin and coffee or tea. The area wasn’t refreshed, so I ended up leaving for the day without tea or a muffin. The staff wants you to go to the bakery, however the line is out the door, so it isn’t convenient if you’re in a hurry. My room wasn’t made up, despite requesting service. The hard surfaces in the hallway and rooms mean that sound travels, so TV noise is an issue from adjacent rooms and footfall in the hallway echoes. The spartan design also means there isn’t a lot of space to hang coats or clothing, so the room is best for a short stay with only one guest.
The location was perfect, and the interior design was fun. I liked the snickerdoodle on arrival. They had umbrellas available.
