Rooms are dated and could use a makeover, recommend staying on the first floor as the second floor runs along the 101 freeway which is very loud.

The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. If you're going to be out and about all day and only need a place to sleep it's perfect.

The cards to enter your room don’t work all the time so you have to go to the lobby to get your card reset every day

Breakfast was only grab and go (cereal bars, coffee and juices). And the rooms were quite noisy as the hotel is very close to the highway.

The staff was great. Everyone we met was nice (we checked in at 2am but the receptionist was still very nice). The swimming pool was great in hot summer evenings.

The grounds must have been nice once upon a time but now are shabby and badly in need of rehab and renovation. Hotel needs deep cleaning everywhere and new paint and Spackle to include the rooms. It's nice that Mikado provides drinks and snacks in the morning but they are all high-sugar items, although the madeleine cookies were pretty tasty. We were not on vacation during our stay so the hotel served our basic needs for safety and shelter.

Rina at desk helped us to a better room (234) when the door to 226 was really difficult to open with key card. The housekeeper Gloria was sweet and kind. Appreciated the microwave and two-door mini-fridge. Our room's balcony overlooked the pool so we could know to use when it was not occupied. The king bed was comfortable. The bath towels were large and fluffy. Appreciated refillable bath toiletries that lessen plastic waste. Loved Kahuna Tiki Tu next door for happy hour. The pool is a good size and very clean. Glad that our room was in the back with parking just outside our door. Constant noise of traffic due to busy location but you get used to it after awhile.

The ac did not cool in one of the two rooms we reserved. I let them know as soon as I arrived and I was told it should get cooler but it never cooled. I did let them know when I checked out.

Carpets were very dirty to the point our feet were black from walking on the carpet. The Front Office staff member was rude and very unhelpful. The room was booked for 4, and we were provided with 2 towels. When we were asked for more, it was like we were asking for his firstborn. He tried to charge us twice for the rooms that were already paid via booking.com and then proceeded to tell me I was lying about paying even after showing the confirmation email and my bank statement.

The location was good. Close to Universal Studios Hollywood and easy to get to from Anaheim.

The room beds felt like it was missing a comforter on top. there wasn't that "decorative" top layer like the photos show. while there was that sign to put on the beds, i assumed that meant they would leave the beds as is but they did re make them (with the original sheets i assumed?) and i had clothes etc.. all over the beds so i felt bad i hadnt cleaned up the bed for them and that they had to move all of that. The breakfast was only 7-10am which seemed like a late start, but it wouldnt have been a big deal if it also wasnt just packaged to go snacks. i.e nutra grain bars, chewy bars, sunny d etc.. There was only one ramp to get from the parking lot to the lower level and it was on the opposite end of where our room was located, so that was a little frustrating. we ended up just hauling everything up/down the stairs.

The location to Universal Studios was great. The man who checked us in was very friendly and gladly got us some extra towels. The location was right down the road from a convenience store which was handy. I liked that they had a sign that you could put on the bed to say no need to change the sheets to save some resources since we were staying two nights.
