The full-size beds are small to share with 2 ppl per bed. The private bathroom is tiny to share w 4 women getting ready… no shelf to put makeup bags/toiletries. Old school metal keys - must physically lock room door w key when leaving. Key needed to unlock main door to enter hotel all time of day… great for safety but all parties must have own set of keys so mildly inconvenient. Only one pillow per 4 guests.

Proximity to UC Berkeley… only 10 minute walk. Very close to many cafes & restaurants. Had a private bathroom in our double room w fridge & microwave. The sheets were soft and room was clean. Streaming available on TV. Flight delayed so late checkin after 1am was accommodated pleasantly but I had called ahead. Make sure to call to plan late checkin. Very late checkout accommodated for a negotiated fee.

The busy street at night, became an issue, the room was not warm enough. It was not as clean and as nice as they showed in the pictures

I wish there was a parking lot or validated parking for nearby parking garages. There was no AC or fan. The bathroom could use some aesthetic repairs. With those repairs, I would have felt more comfortable with the cleanliness of the hotel.

The Nash cafe was conveniently opened late. The location was perfect for exploring downtown. The hotel was easy to find. Parking was a little difficult to find, but good enough for a one night stay.

The hotel staff is very kind, gowever, I must admit that the condition of the carpet in my assigned room was less than satisfactory. In contrast, a previous room I stayed in was noticeably cleaner. I did have a couple of instances where I spotted a mouse entering my room from beneath the door, which was a bit unsettling. If distance from the city center is not a problem, i would vouch for different hotels. The hotel staff demonstrated genuine concern while addressing the issues I encountered over the phone. They mentioned that information regarding room servicing every 5 days should ideally have been provided during check-in.

Building is old. Owner tried hard to upgrade as much as practical but limited by the building. Many places in downtown Berkeley was old like this one so not unique.

The property is pretty rundown and not in the best area. the reviews speak to that so not much of a surprise. Fine for a short stay.

The property is in a great location. Walking distance to all of Berkeley and very close to the BART downtown stop.

There are no shampoos or bodywash in the room. Neither are teethbrush and teethpaste. It would be better if the hotel could inform prospective customers of this info.

Location is good, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. Room is neat and tidy. Check in and out is very fast and they can speak Chinese! The charge of laundry is fair ($4).

The floor was inexplicably damp to the point of wetness especially at the start of my stay. The shower was somewhat temperamental. When checking in, reception did not see I had already paid and accidentally almost double-charged me.

Available to book quickly and check-in available late at night, great location (near university, the WeWork office, and many dining places). Decent room. Easy check-in and check-out.

It was a converted SRO and looked like it. For the room, the cost was a little high. I also didn't like that there were a few people who were out front of the hotel, sitting around and smoking.

I liked that it was close to campus and I could walk there. Too, there were a lot of neighboring businesses, which was convenient. Also, they did a decent job of keeping the facility clean.

It's an old hotel and has seen better days. Room was a little dingy, carpet stained, but seemed clean. Our room overlooked University Ave. and was a bit noisy (construction next door didn't help but lots of street noise early and late).

Great location about a block from BART. Centrally located in downtown Berkeley near restaurants, shopping and Cal campus. Arriving by Amtrak via Richmond BART was almost painless and everything we wanted to do was a short walk away. Room was basic but comfortable. We had the attached bath and the shower was AWESOME. I took a look at the bathrooms provided for rooms w/o bath and they looked good, too, and very clean.

    - Shared bathroom means shared with the whole floor, not with one other room like I had thought. And it’s so small, there’s no way you could legitimately shower in there. - Yes there’s elevators but no way a wheelchair could fit, so the place is not accessible. - Room is quite small as well, and the tv only has three working channels. - Absolutely no hotel parking, only street parking so good luck finding a spot nearby.
