Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesParking far from our room in the rain. Also, difficult to park at onsite cafe.
Quiet, relaxing, private room in an old multi plex cottage with plenty of books to browse through. We only had one night but it was well worth it. Nice cafe down an easy pathway with wonderful brunch.

United KingdomThey were very reluctant to help me order a taxi. Basic civility and desire to help triumphed in the end and it was fine, but it's a curious thing to get hung up about.
The breakfast is provided at the Oakhurst Cafe, which provides imaginative and very tasty menu. Thoroughly recommended. Not included in the room charge.

Everything was wonderful the only thing that confused me were the prices. The food, the staff, basically everything with one exception, I paid approximately $400 a night and yet on their website there were specials I qualified for, and when I searched for prices many were a lot less. More transparency would be nice and if you’re offering discounts, somebody should communicate that to you when you check in.

Cute spot, adorable main house with a lounge area, bar, and pool. Our room was in a house adjacent to the main house. Rooms are cute and cozy, with wooden floors, comfy beds, and nice big windows. Staff was very nice and helpful.

United StatesThe hotel felt well overpriced. The room was very small and sink that was clogged on our arrival was not fixed until the last night of our stay. The parking turned out to be payed even tho it wasn’t obvious from the description. Street parking is permit only so there was no other options except for paying for it.
It was a cute hotel that consist of multiple separate buildings. It was unique and located close to restaurants. There is EV charger on premises.

United StatesFor a boutique hotel experience the rooms are lacking some basic amenities. There is no mini fridge in the room so you cannot keep drinks or snacks cold. There is also no real coffee brewer, just instant coffee in the room and the outlet for the tea kettle was so far from the tabletop the tea kettle was basically balancing on the edge of the tabletop to brew. These are small inconveniences but they add up to be kind of frustrating when you’re hoping to experience a boutique setting. If we were staying for longer than one night it would have been more of an inconvenience. The bathroom was not clean, drips of dirt on the walls and the shower had someone else’s hair stuck to the walls and wrapped around the cosmetic rack. The throw pillow for the bed was also just tossed up on top of the ironing board in the corner. Overall, it felt as though the housekeeping was rushed. Again, small details on their own but stacked together felt disappointing. Also- there are 3 hangers and 1 single hook in the entire room/bathroom and this is a constant complaint in hotels for me but putting more hooks in these rooms so people don’t have to drop all their purses, jackets, toiletry bags, etc on the floor or all over the beautiful furniture would make such a difference.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff is so kind and helpful! During the day when the curtains are open in the room the backdrop of the location through the windows is so pretty and cozy. The bed is so comfortable and the sound machine is a nice touch! It’s a great place to have a sound sleep!
