Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesSmall bathroom and inability to turn on a bathroom light without a noisy fan coming on.
Everything! The Pequot is cozy, charming, unpretentious and accommodating. Our room was great …comfortable bed, two chairs and THREE windows. The bathroom was a bit on the small side but still adequate. (It would be nicer if the light could be turned on without the noisy fan.) The common areas , especially the swing and rocking chairs on the front porch, are perfect for relaxing and socializing. The location on a quiet side street surrounded by wonderful Victorians but still close to town and “the cottage campgrounds “was special. The staff was helpful, very friendly and accommodating. A special place!

United StatesI cannot say enough great things about this hotel! Beautiful hotel with extremely friendly staff. They provide coffee, tea, and water all day along with delicious cookies. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast which we ate outside with a gorgeous view. Room was very clean and comfortable. They allow storage of luggage while out and about. Great location too! I would highly recommend this hotel!

I liked the atmosphere. The staff were nice and sweet. They offered consistent coffee, tea and coffee in the afternoon and let us store our luggage during the day before we checked in and after we'd checked out!

United StatesI wouldn’t change a thing about it!
Nicest staff I’ve ever met. Food was fresh and plentiful. Free cookies and lemonade, plus the comfortable front room and porch made it very homey. And so close to the beach!

United StatesWe didn’t like the humidity in the room. Everything felt very “wet.” The carpets, bed and air was just damp.
We absolutely LOVED the location, staff and accommodations. There were the most delicious cookies, complimentary beach accessories loaners and good restaurant recommendations.

CanadaThe price of the little room was expensive. An extra shelve in the bathroom would help to store make up bags. I thought bikes would be available to us thru hotel.
Jill at the front desk was wonderful! Upon arrival, she mapped out all restaurants and tourist attractions we asked about,. The staff was very friendly and always happy to accommodate us.

United StatesRooms are small.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, great bed and breakfast feel. It’s actually much better and crisper than the pictures show. The linen on the beds looks dated in the pictures, but it’s new and clean in person. While we booked this as one of the last rooms available and I was prepared to grin and bear it, I’d actually book this place again! I loved the receptions and live music too. Great community and just a minute or so walk to the beach - Inkwell Beach.

United StatesThe shower was so tiny, but I realize this is a Victorian era house that is functioning in 2021.
This is a difficult time to be a Bed and Breakfast, in the middle of a pandemic, but the Pequot kept their standards high. They maintained cleanliness and still provided exceptional service at every turn. Breakfast was incredible considering the circumstances. There was spinach quiche, fruit bowl and juice. Coffee was available almost all day, and the chocolate chip cookies did not disappoint. My husband's first trip, but certainly not the last.

United StatesNothing. It was perfect.
The location was terrific. One block from the beach and about a 5 minute walk to downtown Oaks Bluff. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. We were surprisingly given an upgrade to an "apt" which featured 3 bedrooms, living room, dining area, full kitchen and private bath. Even had a private porch. We will definitely be back next year!

United StatesThis place is fantastic. The location is great. Super close to Circuit St. for dining and shopping. Incredibly close to the beach and nestled among the gingerbread cottages. The place is clean and incredibly maintained. Breakfast is all homemade and served with flawless customer service. All of the employees truly exude love and a welcoming vibe. They even let you leave luggage early if you arrive before check in and will call you if they are ready a little early. On our last day, we also checked out and left our luggage to enjoy the day before our ferry. They also have beach towels, chairs and umbrellas to borrow. Fantastic porch and outdoor sitting areas to enjoy as well. If you are looking for a place where the employees are happy you are there instead of feeling like you are a bother, this is the spot!
