The room llighting wasn't the best, specially in the bathroom, there was none.

Breakfast was surprisingly good, loads of variety and the staff attending it was very pleasant was all, always glad to help.

There is no wardrobe holder in the room and the mattress has seen better times.

The personnel is friendly and helpful. The rooms are big enough and everything is as declared. Mostly clean and tidy. You don’t hear too much from the other rooms. The parking lot is spacious and there are always enough free spaces. The breakfast has small variety but it should be enough for most people. The bagels are pretty nice and you can take as much as you need of everything offered. 3-4 different flakes, bagels, oatbars, milk, yogurt, apples, tea, coffee… It is not far from the Yosemite NP (approx. 1h).

Mariposa is a little village so it is somehow expectable, there were some kind of noises every 5-8 seconds outside which was a little annoying but it stopped at night.

The hotel is perfect to visit Yosemite(about 1h drive). The breakfast is small, however they offer free bottled water as well as cereal bars, which is perfect for a hike. The staff was really friendly and helpful when looking for restaurants. There is 24/7 hot water and coffee available. The room itself was pretty standard, nothing special. We had been on first floor, where ice machine as well as wending machines are located - those ones were quite noisy but you are not able to hear them in your room, which is perfect.

We had a room close to reception. Could hear everything - room across the hall, staff, passerby’s.. Bed is not that comfy, but didn’t expect much more for the price.

The hotel is located in a really nice village, the last we found on our way to yosemite valley, 1 hour drive. Other closer accomodation are kind of isolated. The receptionist was so kind searching for some tourist info about the National Park. At the time of booking I didn't expect to have a breakfast included, while it was.

Room could definitely be cleaner - found big stains on the towels and bedsheets, also strands of hairs on the pillows and beds. Lack of hangers and hooks in the toilet / room.

The pillows are very firm. Overall we had a comfortable stay but the pillows might have been a problem if stayed longer than 1 night.

The one problem I had was how noisy the hotel was. I was on the main floor down the hall from the reception area and could hear every word of a phone call the front desk person had, or when someone checked in at 11pm. Same with noise between floors -- I could hear when the person in the room above me turned on the sink or walked across the room, and I'm sure the person below me could hear the same from me. There's not an easy fix for this, but it was really signficant and is worth mentioning.

Great location for a good price. The Monarch Inn was clean, accessible, and felt safe. Staff were nice, and there was a simple but sufficient continental breakfast.

I discovered it's best to park in front of the building to check-in on the main level, then drive around back to park, which is actually a floor lower and requires your keycard to get in. A little inconvenient to move the car again, but not that bad.

While not brand new or top of the line, everything from the lobby to the room and parking lot appears well-kept. I was happy to find a clean and comfortable place for under $100, especially when I booked it just a few hours before arriving late at night. Breakfast was small, but included as part of my stay and very convenient for those looking to grab and go early (breakfast started at 6 am). Mariposa is about as close to Yosemite Valley as you can get while still being in a real town.

Rather big gap under the door letting in cold, light and noise and the walls are also quite thin (ear protection provided on the night stand :) ). Mediocre breakfast although with healthy stuff for a hiker. Also the price seems a bit on higher side but i guess you pay for the location.

Good location to reach Yosemite National park in the morning. There is also guest parking behind the hotel off the main road. The room was spacious enough and clean.

The driveway entering the parking lot at the back of the building has a very steep slope. I worry about driving up or down that slope when it is icy in winter. My room #407 is a bit dark around the desk area. I think a desk lamp would help.

The location is great in midtown Mariposa, close to the YARTS bus stop and restaurants. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The room has a good layout with a microwave and a coffee maker. The window opens fully allowing fresh air circulation, The basic breakfast is a pleasant surprise with bread and juice.
