Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesWe don't normally post negative comments as we work in the industry, but feel we owe to those booking based on previous reviews. We weren't expecting anything great at this price, but don't think this place warrants the 8+ rating that it has. The hallway smelled heavily of cigarettes making the room smell pretty bad. We determined that cigarette smell was blowing into our room via the bathroom (the fan?) off and on. I figured we must have been given a smoking room since we didn't specify, no big deal. I asked the front desk and was assured that it was impossible that someone could be smoking as it is a non-smoking hotel and they did nothing. There was a hastily cleaned up red stain covering most of the bathroom tile floor. There were some pretty nasty looking red and brown drips on the tub, toilet, and under the sink. You probably don't want to think too much into what this could be. Not a negative since this is common in Vietnam, but the bed was one of the hardest we've ever slept on, like wood hard. Just FYI. Oh, and there were little ants crawling around all over the floor. Maybe this place is okay for crashing for the night, but we were happy to nope out of there in the morning. This may be a place that was nice but has gone down hill by quite a bit.
Good location, staff for nice, the price was great at about 30 USD for a night. Check-in and out were easy

AustriaWe had the feeling that they were not prepared for guests, overall it was a weird vibe and not welcoming. The woman at the reception didn’t speak English (or only very little), the staff just looked at us when we carried our heavy bags into the room but they escorted us to the room so they could’ve helped us easily. We already payed for a room with breakfast but when we wanted to go and eat in the morning there was no food there and they couldn’t explain us why. The next day we tried again but the breakfast was very little and almost nothing. We had the feeling that we were the only guests which was weird in such a big hotel

New ZealandThe breakfast buffet area was always a riot at the time of our stay as there was a big group of local guests. Often there was nowhere else to seat and food wiped out. After a while we just stopped trying our luck. Not many breakfast options for non-Asian guests. Also the younger staff hardly spoke English but other than that they tried their best.

AustraliaI booked this accommodation on the morning of my stay. Booking confirmation was received. My father and I are cyclists and cycled for hours to get to the hotel. Upon arrival I was told the room is not available. Manager was messaging with the receptionist on the phone but did not want to talk to me. I am currently waiting for 40 mins. There is no decision on what will management do. The other nearby hotels are double in price due to last minute booking. It's 7pm now. We came here 2 nights ago and another guest had issues with management regarding an incorrect booking. We were asked to vacate our room to correct the receptionist's mistake with another guest. We were being beyond reasonable at that point but this is a reoccuring issue at this establishment. This is the second time we have to deal with issues at this venue. We were told that booking.com was a pathetic service for the hotels because our booking confirmation was not sent to them.
We are cyclists. They had a secure storage area for our bicycles.

We cycled from Ho Chi Minh to Haboi. They had a secure storage area for our bicycles.

United KingdomIt needs a face lift as very tired and worn. Overall the cleanliness needs attention and a sheet straight into the mattress isn’t hygienic. This was addressed when we asked. The breakfast wasn’t great and if you didn’t go early everything was finished and not replaced.
Very tired and we upgraded after seeing the room we had been booked into by the tour company.

South AfricaThey are not ready to open after the pandemic. The spa was closed but this was not disclosed to guests before arrival. No wifi password was provides for the room. The fridge did not work. The bath plug did not work. The air-conditioning did not work. The bedside table lamps did not even have light bulbs in, so could not switch on. And the credit card machine was out of order and this too was never mentioned. It was one inconvenience upon the other. I would not recommend this hotel at all and needless to say I won't return either. It was a big disappointment.
