How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Beautiful location, 10 minute bike ride to beach. Have a walk around the streets and you wont be disappointed. Lovely gardens and food production close by. Very peaceful. Far enough from main road, not much noise. Hosts were very nice.

The closet in our room made some noises, it's most likely woodworms. This is known by the hosts and they hope to fix it on short term. It didn't really matter much.
Very good stay. Located between beach and downtown Hoi An, it's a perfect place for couples or family who enjoy the quiet more. The hosts are absolutely amazing and very helpful. Clean room and towels every day, lovely swimming pool and decent breakfast for a very decent price.

Had an amazing stay at tropical garden and pool villa. The staff were so friendly and eager to go out of their way to help you and make you feel comfortable. Rooms were clean and spacious. And the outside area was absolutely lovely too!

the location is very good , it only takes 5 minutes to go to the city and the sea , very clean and tidy , the woman who runs it is very good , the swimming pool is very clean and beautiful , the view is good

This homestay is amazing. Comfortable large beds, good wifi, great location for old town and beach. Breakfast and coffee are excellent. Host family is very nice, kind and helpful.

The stuff was super friendly, they have free bikes to rent and cheap motorbike for renting. Pool is very nice, clean and hot water.

The room was huge and the bed's luxurious!!! Lovely big shower room, great air con. Amazing family run business, very helpful to us. Beautiful pool and lounging area, great location in the vegetable village and free bikes to ride into Hoi An. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Communal areas of the property such as stairs were quite unclean, location required a long walk either to the beach or Hoi an old town
The aesthetic of the hotel was great, large rooms with balcony’s which was nice! Staff were helpful too

We stayed about 5 nights and they only cleaned the room every 2nd day, which when you consider the toilet issue of putting paper in bin I don’t think was hygienic and daily cleaning required. The breakfast food that we ordered was not great. The washing was not done adequately some was dirty - they didn’t offer to rectify just didn’t charge us in the end. There was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee. At 6am a couple of mornings the ‘news’ Is broadcast into the community. We got a cheap rate as we booked late so overall it was ok.
The room was spacious and setting quiet.

The location on Google maps was incorrect. not by much but wboight so we couldn't find it for a while and the locals didn't know . I have since offered the edited location to Google. There was a Cockerell in the neighbours yard right by our window facing East and he would pipe up at about 345 am and cluck evry min or so for a few hours so that was quite torturous.
Nice large room and beds. the biggest we stayed in and there was an internal partition between the beds so effectively 2 separated rooms , one bathroom. the pool is nice and the staff helpful. the cost of the room per night was very good value, considering the property was so nice. the owners organised bike rental for us too and the price was the cheapest we'd had up to then. 100k a day per bike
