Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWe loved the first few nights in the tent. So grounding w nature, yet we had all we needed to be comfy. The daily display by the Jackal Buzzards was so special. Walking on the property and exploring the nearby attractions was so lovely. The last few nights spent in the Chalet was a real treat, enjoying the smaller birds and having the specials passing through the garden. The fact that we could have our doggies there was such a bonus and the pool on warmer days was such a life saver. Gail, Boos and Thandi are just the best!

South AfricaOnly needed two steak knives that's all.
Tranquil views out of this world a steep climb worth that secluded area and it was equipped with the necessities one needed to scale down. Safe and secure. Wind was awesome at night and the bird calls late and early morning. Pack light for this gem to visit as you going to feel it walking up to get that view. My 2nd time here and always coming back for more.... The eagles needed much quiet seroundings to observe them late afternoon.

South AfricaThe shower pressure is quite low and it was difficult to get it to a good temperature. We either had scorching or cold. The steep climb is STEEP! It's quite a hike uphill so make sure you don't pack more than necessary. Though non of the two above would stop us from coming back again.
This location is absolutely stunning! The views from the balcony are incomparable. The tent is fitted with two single mattresses that are quite comfy. It had everything we needed for our 2-night stay. Although the place doesn't include wifi, it has great signal, so you're able to work and go online if needed (though up here you won't want to do anything except immerse yourself in the surroundings!) The eagle calls throughout the day was such a luxury to hear.

The location is more or less 1/2 way between Sedgefield and Wilderness which allows you access to either. It is also far enough away from the freeway to be quiet and restful.

What a magical experience! Such a beautiful little Chalet nestled in the bush. So isolated and far from civilization - we loved the privacy. You only hear nature and a ton of birds. It was such a cozy little place. I loved the visits from the birds and the fireplace in the evenings. More than enough wood for braais and the fireplace at night. Kind host and we just loved Thandi! Chalet was well equipt and we had absolutely everything we needed. We CANNOT wait to be back!

South AfricaThere is about 5km of a dirt road leading to the property to be aware of, but its 100% worth it and actually also lots of fun if you have a sense of adventure. Wish we could stay longer.
This place is an absolute hidden gem! We stayed in the chalet that just feels like a holiday. Its basic. but has everything you need and the environment is unbeatably beautiful. We.spotted atleast 12 different kinds of birds from our doorstep. Theres a little patio thats perfect for just soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. Our hosts were so kind and helpful and provided lots of extra information about the area. We have a toddler and he LOVED the space. He played on the grass and walked through the trees and also enjoyed throwing a ball to the dog who lives on site. It was raining while we were there, but the braai area is equipped with everything you could need. When the rain stopped we enjoyed just sitting there and watching the wild life. The chalet has a fantastic shower, good wifi (not that you would want to look at a screen at all when you stay here) and we were pleasantly surprised that coffee and tea and sugar and milk was also provided. We only wish we could stay longer, but will be back soon.

South AfricaI loved it! I had a solo "eat, pray, love" journey all by myself. It really centered myself and brought me back down to reality. I was bird watching every day, coloured in and just chilled.. Things I never do. But it's sooo peaceful there. Definitely does clear your mind. Making this a yearly mission.

South AfricaA very peaceful stay to start our December holiday. A well equipped chalet with plenty of natural light. Lovey deck for morning coffee and rusks. Well positioned braai area under the trees. Use of the swimming pool area was a big plus and the kids loved Thandi’s (the dog) daily visits. Pleasant drive on gravel road along the vleis to Wilderness. Close to bird hides and hiking trails. We heard the eagle’s call most days of our stay.
