Our main light in the room did not work and the water of the toilet bowl would not stop running, becoming pretty noisy and annoying.

The pool could have been warmer. The surrounding area is not great, but once you enter the hotel grounds the rest of the world is shut out.

Sun Rock Guesthouse was an oasis in the Kempton Park area, close to Johannesburg airport. It is in a secure compound, with lovely gardens and very clean rooms. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel, which were both very good, and spent a while after dinner playing pool in the bar. It would have been nice if the outdoor pool was warmer, but given that we were there for only one night that wasn’t really a problem. Overall very good.

The dinner service was difficult when too many people took seconds, which mean twice I missed out on food. A couple of options would of been nice.

I stayed in Sunrock Guesthouse for one night only before my next flight from Johannesburg the next day. From the beginning until I left everything was perfectly fine. The driver Testimony picked me up at the airport as soon as I messaged the guesthouse that I arrived. He was very friendly and welcoming. The check-in in the guesthouse was very easy, Jacky explained everything to me and showed me around. I had dinner and breakfast which were both very good and tasty. My room was clean and had a great view in the green garden. I really enjoyed the massage that I had in the SPA later on! All in all there is not a single bad thing I could tell. I am coming back for sure next time I need a place to sleep near Johannesburg!

I didn't have any issues with my stay at the hotel.

I appreciated my experience at the hostel from the moment I arrived at the airport. The shuttle service promptly picked me up, and the hotel's proximity to the airport was very convenient. The hostel provided a quiet and peaceful environment, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Additionally, the breakfast served was satisfactory. The next day, I was taken back to the airport by the shuttle.

This is not a negative but as an airport hotel there are obviously people arriving late leaving early etc so some noise may be heard.

I had a very comfortable night after arriving on a late flight, I was travelling alone and felt well looked after with the friendly airport pick up and staff in hotel.

Perfect for an overnight stop over between flights. So close to the airport, about a 5 minute free shuttle ride. Communication was stress free through Whatsapp to arrange. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole place and room was spotlessly clean, beautiful pool area and garden. Dining room had cosy fireplaces to enjoy an evening meal - buffet dinner was delicious. Safe little haven in Joburg. Staff have even allowed us to store a surfboard there for a week. Thank you Sunrock, we really enjoyed our stay :)

Not a lot to change. The location is great for access to the airport & does exactly what is needed to facilitate overnight stays between flights. Not a great location for walking around sightseeing but tours are offered & the place is an oasis within the area. You need to be a weightlifter to move the dining chairs! :)

Location is great & the airport shuttle is a fantastic bonus as is the early check in & late check out option which really helps when flights are at difficult times. The restaurant meals are basic good & wholesome South African fare & reasonably priced. Lovely gardens & swimming pool. Staff were more than willing to order & arrange takeaways for lunch & add it to the final bill.

Our alternative room was a bit small, motel like, but quiet and well set up

Ina and her team obliged our every request without fuss. The setting is magical with beautiful garden, pool with chaises and a gazebo all overlooked by the dining room with the bar and a gym within a few steps. What a welcoming, superbly run accommodation 5 minutes shuttle car from the airport.

Very good location next to the airport. Very silent place with lots of plants and a big pool. Dinner and breakfast were really good and affordable. Staff were very helpfull and friendly. Parking is possible on site.
