Kasese (42.1 miles from Beni Airport)
With mountain views, Ruboni Community Camp is located in Kasese and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar and garden. A car rental service is available at the lodge. We had an unforgettable experience at Ruboni Community Camp! The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with a shower that provided hot water – a true luxury after a day of exploring. Falling asleep to the soothing sounds of nature and the gentle rush of the nearby river was nothing short of magical. The food was absolutely exceptional. Every dish was a delight, but the pepper steak was a standout – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Unlike the typical overcooked steak, this one was a true culinary highlight, paired with fresh, vibrant salads. The forest walk organized by the camp was another highlight. We were lucky enough to spot three different chameleons, including the fascinating three-horned chameleon, as well as the black-and-white colobus monkey. It was a unique and enriching experience to connect with the local wildlife. What made our stay even more meaningful was knowing that part of the proceeds goes directly to supporting the local community. Ruboni Community Camp is a shining example of sustainable tourism done right. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and memorable experience in Uganda!

Nyakalengija (43.3 miles from Beni Airport)
Rwenzori Trekking Homestay is situated in Nyakalengija and offers a garden. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. My friend and I just spent five days trekking in the Rwenzori Mountains, and the night before we set off, we stayed with Felix and his family. It was a wonderful experience—they prepared delicious food for us, getting us ready for the journey ahead. They woke up early to serve us a fantastic breakfast. Staying with a local family in the village gave us an authentic Ugandan experience. Felix and his family are incredibly kind and welcoming, and he is doing remarkable work in the community. He's also very knowledgeable. We stayed with them again last night, arriving around 9:30 PM after a long, exhausting day of trekking. Nothing was too much trouble—they heated water for us to bathe, made a hearty, delicious meal late at night, and prepared an amazing breakfast this morning. It was also lovely spending time with their beautiful daughter. I highly recommend staying with them to anyone visiting the village.
