I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

We had the most amazing time at Leel’s Safari cottage! The room was perfect—super clean, beautifully designed, with air conditioning and a hot water. You can really tell how much effort they put into making everything just right. It felt so cozy and welcoming. The garden outside was lovely—well-kept, peaceful, and such a nice place to relax. And the food… wow! The meals cooked by Leel’s mom and his wife were the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Thank you both for making every meal so special! We also did the sunrise safari with Leel, and it was incredible🌅 He’s so professional and knows the park so good. He explained everything so calmly and made sure we didn’t miss anything. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much, Leel, for an unforgettable stay. This is a great stop of for visiting the nearby safari. Everything was great. A real family atmosphere where everyone tries to make your stay as memorable as possible. They arranged a Valentines surprise for us, a cooking course which was incredible and thorough and also a great safari. Lovely big cool room too. Wonderful value too.

It was exceptional, my daughter and I were alone in the hotel and on the property, which is a one-time experience. We enjoyed the team, the owner, the spice garden tour with explanations, the superb pool and grounds, the frogs at night and birds and monitors by day, the unavoidable ants, and the fresh fruit & veggies. It is the perfect stay upon arrival or before departure, since it is not far from the international airport in Colombo. It is cozy, with much comfort, good service, and the 9 rooms spread into 6 pavilions make it seem very intimate. There is an ayurvedic treatment spa, and it is perfect to recharge, work remotely (which I did while overseeing my 7 y.o. in the pool), and laze around. Book 2 nights minimum for improved appreciation before heading to your Sri Lankan discovery tour & adventures!

Everything about this hotel was amazing. They upgraded our room and went above and beyond expectations. It’s an intimate hotel with friendly staff, great location and is impeccably maintained. Wish I could stay longer.

We loved our stay here. It's very clean. The room and bathroom facilities are really good enough. First of all I would like to say paddy field view is amazing. We really love it. The owner is a really good person and also his wife. Their hospitality is great. This is an ideal accommodation more than other places near sinharaja rainforest. Also owner is a guide in sinharaja rainforest. He described all the detailed information. I recommend him as the best guide for your journey. I got great support from this family to make my journey successfully.
