Lions Place is in the middle of a game preserve, so it is remote, but that is essential to its charm. You are in the middle of the habitat of African wildlife. Nevertheless, JB has managed to create a really high-end lodge. The building is lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, and the meals are exceptional. We went on four safaris and they were magical.

Me and my wife had an amazing stay here. We were impressed by the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere.
The villa itself is really spacious, beautiful stylish, and impeccably clean, offering everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The views were absolutely breathtaking, overlooking mountains—perfect for enjoying a morning coffee, breakfast or a glass of wine in the evening.
The location is great, providing escape while still being close to the heart of Franschhoek.
The staff is warm, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request, making sure everything was perfect. Special thanks to Esme!
Overall, I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxurious, tranquil, and memorable getaway in Franschhoek.
We loved it so much that we decided to go back to it for our last night in South Africa!

This place is amazing, location, views and unreal rooms. From check-in to check out everything was exceptional a warm welcome. Staff made our celebration simply unforgettable. The boutique hotel is a real treat, extremely manicured, professional and clean. A wonderful service experience.

Our stay at Ivory Wilderness River Rock Lodge was the highlight of the holiday. Danell and Wienand were wonderful guides and hosts and made us feel very welcome at this beautiful Lodge. Andrew and Siphiwe looked after us at the Lodge and we enjoyed every meal. The team at Ivory Wilderness work well together and make sure that you are well looked after.

Our stay at the Motswari Retreat was amazing! The rooms were beautiful, so thoughtful decorated and well equipped, the meals were delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Desmond, the manager, is extremely friendly and was always going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Marius, our guide, and Erick, our tracker, were excellent as well and we appreciated how passionate and experienced they were. Our chef, Eva, and her team were fantastic and every meal was outstanding, especially the outdoor bonfire/grill night. We cannot say enough great things about the Motswari retreat!!

We loved everything about this place. We had such a great reception with tea/coffee and explanations about what to do in the area, ideas of places to eat, etc.. the house is beautiful, everyone there is super friendly. Great breakfast!! I think there was an excellent price quality ratio. I would recommend so much this place.
