The property offers quiet street views.
Sisingamangaraja XII International Airport is 130 km from the property.
Toba Boi Guesthouse is a tranquil hideaway wrapped in padi fields and village charm, unless you happen to book one of the front-facing rooms. Then it’s a nightly festival. Rooms either face the peaceful rice paddies at the back (cue frogs, breeze, and existential bliss) or overlook Tataring Coffee & Resto, where a live band rocks out every Thursday and Saturday evening until midnight.
Yes, the music is loud. No, earplugs won’t save you. But credit where it’s due.. the band slaps. Think less “karaoke horror” and more “why aren’t they famous yet?”
A short walk takes you to shops and local eats, and there’s a chill little beach right opposite Tataring for your morning cool-off or evening cooldown.
Perfect if you’re into either deep sleeps or deep bass. Choose wisely when booking—or just bring your dancing shoes and call it balance.
Shoutout to caretaker Siska, a sweet, smiley lady who checked us in with warmth and a no-fuss attitude. She also shared great tips on where to eat and what to do, local style.
Note : Motorbike rental at a discounted rate to guest only! High recommended to round island.

Probably the best place to stay on Lake Toba. The property is clean and new and run by a lovely local family who arranged scooters for us. There is a water sport centre just on the lake and we had a great time on the jet skis and banana boat. The ferry drops you directly at the property too! The family room was spacious and great value for money.

The owner is such a great host! The lady is the best cook in Sumatara! She makes very good quality dishes, local taste. We rent motorbikes there and asked for laundry service, nothing was a problem. Location and garden is beaitiful.
The view superb facing lake. The room has basic necessities (fan, bed, table, drying rack, towel, wardrobe) and its a good place if u just want to sleep & travel arounds. Very near to restaurant and got halal stall opposite ths homestay.
The homestay and especially the garden is so beautiful! It’s directly at the lake and just a 2 minute walk from the ferry!
We had the greatest time at Leokap homestay. Three lovely sisters run the homestay and have a restaurant on the other side of the road. The food is amazing, you have to try! They even showed us how to do it so we could learn about indonesian cuisine. Originally we wanted to stay for 2 nights, but ended up extending to 5 nights. They have traditional Batak houses which is a great experience. The accomondation has enough space in the garden to relax and has a great view on the lake.
Ali is a great host. My friend and I both got food poisoning on the way to Lake Toba and he took great care of us, making sure we had everything we needed. The view of the lake is wonderful, even from the bed if you're lying there sick all day ;) . When we were able to eat, we had delicious food at the veggie/vegan restaurant above the apartment! Ali can also help organise day trips for you.
Dong, the owner, truly went out of his way to make my stay memorable. He is a great host, also the other members of the family are truly nice. The rooms have a wonderful view, are spotlessly clean and spacious, there is a huge terrace and good Wi-Fi. Restaurant right across the street. The guesthouse is away from the touristy area but in easy walking distance.
The location was the only good thing about this homestay. It was quite central and the garden looks out on the lake.
Lots to say. First of all, the homestay room is consistent with the photos, functional and clean. The food served is good and affordable.
Amazing view, spacious room, great hosts
