Arinaga is a coastal village belonging to the municipality of Agüimes in the southeast of Gran Canaria. We are sure that when you discover its coast, you will fall in love with it. Along the coast there is a promenade of approximately 2 kilometres that runs from one end of the village to the other. On this promenade you will find restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the local gastronomy. It has a lifeguard service and showers. The locals often bathe at the pier and jump into the sea from there. Once past the pier, in the direction of Risco Verde, you will find other natural swimming pool-type bathing areas known as Zoco Negro. If you continue along the promenade, you will see that there are several wooden deckchairs on the stones of the beach. A perfect solarium. At the end of the promenade you will find the Risco Verde bathing area. There are also wooden sunbeds for sunbathing and there are areas equipped with ramps for bathing. This coastal area of the Canary Islands is known for the richness of its seabed, and is one of the essential places for a dive or first dive in Gran Canaria. Another place you should visit in Arinaga is its lighthouse. To get here you'd better take the car because it's at the top of a mountain. Here you will have a panoramic view of Playa del Cabrón, Roque de Arinaga and the village. The building next to the lighthouse is now a restaurant. If you continue along the coast to the north on a dirt road, you will reach Playa del Cabrón. The access to this small and beautiful cove is by a dirt road. It is quite bumpy, so we recommend that you leave your car parked at the beginning of the road and walk for about 10 minutes. From the beach you can see the lighthouse and enjoy the tranquillity, as it is not a tourist beach, despite its beauty.
