Welcome to Maison Bois Fleurie, a beautiful early 19 th century house with its own chapel. Your hosts Paul & Sue Woods, resident owners for the last 10 years offer a warm welcome and will be happy to share their extensive local knowledge with you. At one time this 2 hectare site was used as a convent. Now fully restored and refurbished, the house is an idyllic French retreat nestled away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and situated in the rural village of Souvigne. We offer Chambre d'Hote (Bed & Breakfast) and self catering accommodation. There is a 5x10 metre swimming pool available for all our guests. Surrounded by some of France's most picturesque scenery with a wealth of interesting things to see and do for all ages. Maison Bois Fleurie makes for an enchanting base from which to explore this region of France. For a long break or if you are just stopping off on your journey you'll find a warm reception and a cosy room to relax and recharge.

Having run a country restaurant in the UK for 20 years,we decided in 2001 to come to France and open our business. We have always loved the country, it's food,wine, people and way of life.Visiting the the market in St Maixent l;'Ecole and buying fresh Oysters for lunch on a Saturday or going to the local cave a vin and tasting some wine before buying are just two of the many enjoyable things to do.

Maison Bois Fleurie is located in the tranquil village of Souvigne which is only 5 minutes from the historic market town of St Maixent l'Ecole with TGV station and only 10 minutes to the A10 autoroute. Cognac with it's brandy houses and the river Charante is approximately 1 hour with the La Rochele and the Atlantic coats just 1hr 15 mins. Maison Bois Fleurie is located within easy distance of many interesting towns and villages and other attractions such as Futuroscope Theme Park. Close by is the Hermitaine Forest for walking and Lac du Lambon with boating facilities. Just 30 minutes away is the beaufiul inland waterway area of the Mairais Poitevin wher it is possible to rent a boat and is also great for walking and cycling.
