Neighbourhood information

The village of Broughton is a short drive away (3 miles) and offers a general store, garage, a tea room and a country pub. Slightly further afield are the towns of Biggar, Peebles and Moffat, each of which offer a wide range of attractions and eateries, including The Big Red Barn which is a particular highlight for a casual breakfast or lunch. Groceries and holiday essentials can also be picked up in any of these nearby towns, where a range of supermarkets and independent shops are on offer. Biggar (10 miles) has an excellent fish and chip shop, and for eating out in Peebles (14 miles), Osso (featured in the Michelin Guide) has an all-round reputation with everything from coffee and cake, delicious lunches or cosy evening dining with a crisp G&T perhaps! Alternatively try Coltman’s Kitchen which is renowned for its friendly hospitality and a range of fantastic deli produce.
