‘Skipper’s Cottage’ is a lovely modernised two storey home with character and style in Penarth, near Cardiff. It is conveniently located, with only a short walk into the town centre, Penarth Seafront & Pier, or Cardiff Bay. Nearby Cardiff City Centre is only a short train, bus, or taxi ride away. Hosting up to 4 guests in two double bedrooms, Skipper’s Cottage is a great place to stay whether you’re on holiday and keen to explore the area, or if you need an amazing place to work from.

We love Penarth and have lived here since 1994, raising our three children. We are retired and spend as much time as we can on our sailing boat exploring the Mediterranean. During your stay Our home is hosted by our good friends Clare & Michael, who are nearby should you need anything. Clare & Michael will meet you at the house to show you around on arrival. We now offer contactless 'check in' this will include a welcome phone call from either Michael or Clare.

Penarth is a beautiful victorian holiday destination located close to Cardiff and Cardiff Bay. Attractions include its seafront, Penarth Pier, and its many independent shops, restaurants and bars. Penarth is also extremely close to Cardiff meaning it's a great location to explore Cardiff City Centre, Cardiff Bay and Mermaid Quay, as well as the wider Vale of Glamorgan. Venues close by include The Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff City Stadium, The Principality Stadium, St Davids Hall, The New Theatre, Cardiff Castle, and others. Penarth is very well served by public transport with 3 train stations in walking distance, water taxis, bus services and bicycle hire, making it easy and convenient to get into Cardiff city centre. There are several local taxi firms and is also served by Uber. Meanwhile Mermaid Quay and the Millennium Centre are just a walk across the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
